Someone's going to have to give me a brief synopsis of what happened with Dr. Moorehouse? I thought she was going to be made Director? Sorry, I've been out of the loop for 4 years.

On behalf of former LSU drumline members everywhere let me just say-
Dude, don't be that guy.

Actually I was snare freshman and sophmore year. Back when the line was trying to get legit. I seriously doubt you speak for former LSU drumline members. I don't know if Roy turned into a dweeb since I left, but he was cool as hell when I was there.

Tried to get me kicked out of a basketball game for having a 10 year old band hat and physically take it from me. Cop ended up siding with me. He has kissed my arse ever since

Wish I could've seen that.

LM was appointed "Associate Director of Bands" and Tiger Band head director, but soon after took a non-marching band position with the University of Illinois School of Music.
The way the LSU School of Music has the whole thing set up now, the HEAD Director of Bands will not be the HEAD Director of Tiger Band. The TB Director will only be the "Associate" Director of Bands. She knew she couldn't progress at LSU, so she flew the coop. Don't ask me why she originally accepted and then left soon after.
Roy King, who was the "Assistant DOB" was appointed the new TB Director for this season. The LSU SOM is still searching for the Head Honcho DOB.
Marched in the Drumline with RK back in the early 80's. Haven't talked to him since he was a high school band director in Pensacola back some time in the late 90's............
BTW, long live Phi Boota Roota. Roy brought PBR to LSU when he transfered from USM in 79 or 80......

Take it easy there. I wasn't talking about Roy. I was making a lighthearted joke at your attempt at humor. He is a really cool guy. He came in either my Junior or Senior year. I think he headed up the drumline after Eric Guineot left, at least for a year or two. We all really liked him. I heard that he was doing a really good job as he moved up the ranks. No complaints here.
I can remember that everyone raved about Linda Moorehouse my Freshman and Sophomore years while she was away getting her doctorate. She was good, but she wasn't anywhere near Frank Wickes' class. It's tough that she got passed over with so much seniority, but I think LSU can definitely do better. I just hope they make the right hire.
Oh, and our 1993 "ring" came from a Waffle House near campus. Maybe on Perkins? 92 was the best ever. They got theirs from the LSU Police Station. Hard to beat that.

1997 was your freshman year? I graduated in Spring of 97 and was at Florida State in the Fall, but you probably remember Ian Smith, right?

Hell yes! He was pretty intense, and a damn good snare drummer! He was only around for my first year, though.
