I've been trying to figure out the lesser of two evils on this one and I think nd is the answer.
Nd will come back to earth next year. There were not great teams this year, but bama will be challenging for a title again next year. I will gladly accept nd fans having one year to be excited about verses bama fans having a shot for 3 straight and 4 out of 5.
As much as I hate the media's love of nd, their fans aren't as bad as bama fans.
I think bama will win either way, but I am definitely pulling for the irish.

The media would pump up inferior Gerry Faust teams until they could do so no longer. You think the USC love is bad, the Notre Dame love is ten times worse. What does that mean to a Bama-hating LSU fan? Simple, it hurts us in the polls. First of all, Notre Dame wins, those voters and reporters who look for any and every excuse to pimp for Notre Dame will get it. LSU benefits from a strong SEC and that means an SEC winning the BCS every year. That might be LSU next year in the #3 spot trying to make the big game and every little vote counts. Those pollsters and reporters think Notre Dame is sophisticated, classy, and one of them compared to you dumb ignorant drunken inbred that live in the South. They hate it that you beat The Ohio State University in BCS games and show up their prejudices. They will love nothing better than to talk about how great Notre Dame is over the SEC if Notre Dame wins. Then next year, when the SEC is getting frozen out of the next two spots thanks to the Notre Dame poll bias, you Bama haters will be raising hell next year and too damn bad, this is what you wanted. You demanded it, Notre Dame won, you got it. The SEC suffers. There is no way in HELL an LSU fan in the 70's or 80's would have pulled for Notre Dame to win over an SEC team, even Bama. Matter of fact, more than a few bragged about a crappy Ole Miss team, yes, Ole fricking Miss, beating Notre Dame in 76, as proof the SEC was underrated by the media. Well, you got your media respect after all these years and now want to chunk it out the window. Pansies.

This old punk thinks you are wrong. Aside from their fans and everything associated with bama, I am cheering for ND because Bama is our bitterest rival in spite if how they feel. Bamas continued success is totally detrimental to LSU. As to whether or not ND screwed us, it is nothing to how much Bama continues to screw the rest of theSec, both with the complicity if the refs and the admin. So Geaux Irish!

I've always hated Notre Dame more than any other team. And I didn't start hating bama more when Saban went there, I'm not a gigantic pussy like a lot of you losers on here, so frick Notre Dame.

Notre Dame hasn't done shite to LSU outside of the Gunner Kiel situation. The hate for ND on here is incredibly confusing and pointless.
I've come to the conclusion that it is just cool to hate ND.

First of all, all the whining about media bias and USC over the years by LSU fans on this site and else where has been ridiculous. Nothing but insecurity on the part of LSU fans. We did not get screwed by the AP. Its an opinion poll, they never said they would automatically vote the winner of the BCS CG #1. So we had a split title, bit deal. I don't see Nebraska, Michigan, Miami, Washington, Oklahoma, USC, Bama or Notre Dame fans whine about split titles. If it bothers you, you should focus your complaint at College Football, not the media. The media by and large have wanted a playoff for decades. As for Auburn getting screwed. There were 3 undefeated teams. Someone was going to get left out. It would no more fair to leave out OU or USC. Unlike 2003 were difference sources disagreed. In 2004 Auburn was ranked #3 by both polls and the computers. Sucks, but again a problem with the system, not the media. Griping that USC should be left out means you are just as biased as the computers.
Also, I've never gotten any LSU fans to answer this, but if the media was so "in love" with USC, explain why they were so far back in 2007 and 2008 when they had the same record as the at least 1 team in the BCS CG? Using the eyeball standard we used for Alabama last year, 2008 USC should have been #1. Their D was absolutely dominating. They had 6 guys drafted in the first 3 rounds and 11 total defensive players drafted. LBs were Cushing, Malauga and Clay Mathews Jr. But they were #5. Why? Seems strange for a 11-1 team that lost to a ranked team in the road in September to be so low if they are the media's team especially since there were no undefeated BCS teams ahead of them. Maybe the media looks at different seasons differently and its the fans that are biased?

If never want to hear anything about any team outside the SEC, stick with local TV and Finebaum.
Only insecure people whine about "media" bias. And maybe you haven't heard, but starting in 2014, there will be a 4 team playoff. Who makes it will be determined most likely by a committee put together by the conferences.

I believe we have a generational difference here.
Older fans know prplhze2000 is correct.
Younger fans never experienced the decades of the media slobbering over average ND teams.
However, younger fans have experienced Bama w Saban.
A simple matter of different life experiences.
