The ‘59 uniform had the numbers on the helmet and that’s just a Bama thing nowadays.

Also had the numbers on top of shoulder pads.

My favorite...from the Tittle era. I had forgotten we actually did wear these one game. Would like to see more of that, but with replica gold helmet w/purple numbers...not sure what color the pants would be, but certainly not white.

while not all the way around the jerseys the last few years were close, this year they went back to that half stripe

jersey templates changed again. And people bitched and said the stripes the last few years looked stupid as well

That picture is why purists are so annoying with their “our uniform is classic and should be messed with” crap. It’s actually not and has been changed several times, so why not do something different every now and then?

Our basic uniform hasn't really changed, though, since the mid 50s. yes, we have gone from numbers on the helmet, to that logo during Bert Jones' time, but our current logo has been in place over 40 years now. The rest of the helmet hasn't changed in a long, long time. Our basic uniforms haven't changed outside subtle changes due to advancement in uniform tech.

Oklahoma actually does it a lot. And we’ve already changed our uniforms a lot more than the other schools you mentioned through the years.

Oklahoma

Ohio State also wears a weird alternate uniform basically every year.

These are USC's traditional uniforms

This is what they wear now

The only "traditional powers" that never change anything are Alabama and Penn State. or do you need me to post pictures of some of the dreadful uniforms schools like Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, etc have worn?

And the old closed-in stripe on the pants is better.

agreed. And the shade of purple on the pant stripe and jersey actually matches the helmet shade of purple. Imagine that.

No because they need get rid of that terrible half shoulder strip. Go back to the traditional tripe that goes all the way around.

Half stripe is waaaay better than the full stripe we had the past couple years. Plus we actually won back when the half stipe was in its prime (2001-2007)

I'm looking for pictures of the uniform LSU wore against Kentucky in either 1995 or 1996 which was yellow helmet, white jersey, purple pants.....and the yellow helmets and yellow jersey that they wore around the same time

We lost to Kentucky that night...I think Dinardo burned them.
