After Leslie was fired the team performed a HELL of a lot better, surely there was the florida game, but fumbles aren't the coaches fault

This team still has a lot of work to go but bumpiness should have been expected transitioning

Nope according to most here the only acceptable answer was belicheck or Saban. The team should be disbanded

They got so much better that we beat cupcakes by more than we would have and still lost the two games we would have lost. Woo!

Nothing was different except we scored more meaningless points against bad teams. We still played like dogshit against teams who field a defense

I can't help but agree with this. The team seemed to play with more passion and intensity, and yet in the two games against teams with a pulse on defense, our offensive line was completely manhandled. We scored 10 points total against Florida and Alabama, something Les' teams never did, even when we were playing Urban Meyer and Nick Saban both every year. I really thought that we would be better off against Alabama when we started getting the WRs and TEs involved in the three games prior, but in the end, it was completely meaningless. If you had been out of country for a month from right before the Auburn game and had plopped down to watch the Alabama game, you would have thought it was the EXACT SAME STAFF. Hell, we at least scored 16 points against Alabama last year.

Hell yes!!! As disgustingly unqualified as O is, he is exponentially better than Miles. Les Miles was nauseatingly PUTRID.

Les Miles gets fired: "LSU finally beats teams how we're supposed to. This is the LSU I remember!"
Ed O gets hired: "LSU won games they were supposed to. Why should we be impressed?"

People forget that this team was horrible in the first four games.

Just wait and see the offense after Ensminger installs his system.

The team playing well is more of an indictment of miles than a plus for O.

We still lost to a 14 point underdog at home while they were missing tons of defensive starters. Sounds a lot like Miles.

We broke several offensive records after Miles was fired. The all time rushing record was broken this season, twice. That never would have happened under Miles.

I do agree though, that the losses were very Les Miles-like.

Our biggest win this year was against Jacksonville State.

Ole Miss was 9-3 last year and destroyed Ok state in the sugar bowl. This year they're 5-7. Didn't make a bowl. Lost like 18 starters from last years team. Arkansas lost like 14 starters including their QB who was one of the most productive in the country, and had the worst defense this year in the entire country. Lost 56-3 to Auburn.

But yeah let's pretend like every team is the same very year, without any use of logic or our mental faculties.

The offense improved.
The STs stunk throughout and may have regressed.
The defense played well consistently.

I agree with that. But let's stop pretending Ole Miss and Arkansas were good wins. They were both good to very good teams last year. This year they were both bad. Who knows if Les would've won those games this year or not. But O winning them is not some great accomplishment, and the talent level of the opponents this year compared to last means compared them is a fools errand

At least it was fun to watch the offense again (except against Bama and Fla )

The sad thing is that this team had elite level talent. The injustice was that the LSU administration shat on every one of theirs seniors who bipassed the draft by keeping miles.

This team with a good coach wouldn't have lost to UF, AU, and Wisconsin and would probably have been playing in the playoffs.
