idiot. why don't you adjust your tin foil hat and go peddle this nonsense somewhere else. some people find conspiracies everywhere and you seem to be one of them; the Trump syndrome.
I don't believe that there was any conspiracy at all gramps. I simply think that CPM made a bad decision. I am a Trump supporter BTW.

So saying that CPM made a bad decision equates to me calling him an idiot? Pitching Walker means that I believe that CPM is trying to ruin his career?
Saying 1) PM used our senior #2 out of the bullpen and relied on a freshman pitcher that he knew had a bad arm for Game 2 of the College World Series - is not simply a "bad decision".
It means 2) PM is an idiot and willing to ruin that freshmans career.
Yes, if you truly believe #1, then you must also believe #2.

Is it CPM's job to know? I like CPM ,but he made a bad decision . He's allowed to screw up, and it's ok to have a discussion about it. I would never think or insinuate that he was trying to ruin Walkers career. Maybe that's your way of thinking but it's not mine

Never saw him the dugout with any ice on the arm at all.

I didn't either.

He did make eye contact. That was the signal to let CPM know he wasn't ok. Who cares if Walker wanted the ball? Of course he wanted the ball, but if he wasn't 100% then it's Cpm's job to sit him.
If we threw Poche last night, we'd be in real trouble. So, while the decision would have been different had he known Walker wouldn't be ok, it's a good thing for us.
The diagnosis was a fatigued muscle. They thought there was a pretty strong chance he'd be fine. Unfortunately, that's not the case. I can't reasonably argue that he should have known differently.
I thought he made several mistakes handling the pitching last night. Going to Gilbert made a ton of sense. When Gilbert started showing signs of losing it, to me, the ball needed to go to Newman. Throwing Bush against 2 lefties was fine. Going to Peterson in a 3-0 game made no sense, IMO. It was too late by the time he brought in Newman.
Now, did that decision hurt us? No. Newman got lit up. So, it didn't make a real difference.
Anything short of a masterful Poche performance followed by a masterful Lange performance and we're going home.

What's the prognosis of Walker? I saw someone say he won't be seen in the CWS again? Is it that bad or is it truly muscle fatigue?

I see what SuperSaint is thinking and I tend to agree with him.
Knowing Walker was having arm issues before the CWS should have eliminated him from starting the all important winners bracket game and PM should have went with the senior Poche. He could have used Walker in relief on Saturday like he used Poche.
PM gambled and lost but in saying this: LSU scored 1 run on 4 hits so they were not going to win this game anyway. Pitching decision was actually a moot point when you don't score runs.

Terrible decision to start Walker if he wasn't 100% and I believe that CPM knew that he wasn't.
I see it both ways.
I agree that they probably knew he wasn't 100%, but this is Omaha. Walker most likely thought he was in good enough shape to throw yesterday, so CPM gave him the go. Who wouldn't want the start their first chance in Omaha. It is what you play for all year.
but,
In the same sense, it is Omaha, and you cant afford to lose a game. CPM could have easily saved Poche for last night, and kept the normal rotation with an extra few days rest for Walker.
All the shoulda, coulda, wouldas can be talked about until were blue in the face. Let's take this thing back, and beat the breaks off of FSU tomorrow!

OP is basing his entire argument on how Walker looked into the dugout. What a load of crap.
Paul knew something wasn't right because Walker's velocity was down 5-6 mph. But he only threw 6 balls in 2+ innings - its not like he was out there laboring.
Walker was on the verge of tears but took himself out of the game for his team. I respect the hell out of that.

I can't see our pitching that's left being able to shut anyone down
We start Poche next game and Lange the next with everyone but Walker and Gilbert available for middle relief and Hess to close. If we go to a game 2 against OSU then Gilbert starts. I think our pitching is in great shape with great matchups against the teams we would play. Its not our pitching Im worried about at this time but our hitters not being able to hit changeups.

"Why does LSU need to score 9-10. Poche is pitching Wednesday and Lange will pitch Friday if they win....."
Sit back & see how many F$U scores Wed nite---looks like you may be surprised.....

Jesus you guys are reaching.
It was a bad decision.
So we can't criticise players or we are trash, can't criticise the coach or we are a conspiracy theorist.
LSU just got embarrassed.

How in the world can you make that declaration? You don't think that Gilbert could have come in and handled FSU?
I do!

What happened to LSU finally having the pitching to win it all? That's all I heard leading up to Saturday. Yet, Paul has to go to his sr starter to eat up innings in the 1st fricking game?
