I'm glad to see Clapp be moved to center, although he was an outstanding guard, I think center is a better fit for him and for the offensive line. As good as Pocic was, I think Clapp has the potential to be an even better center. Pocic at times struggled with shorter nose tackles losing the leverage battle. No knock on Pocic, but tackle seemed to be best suited for him. I'm also happy to see Brumfield projected as a starting guard. He was one of the top guards coming out of high school but had to wait his turn. I think he and Teuhema will make a great pair of guards for us. Malone and Weathersby struggled at times last year at tackle, but they have a year of experience under their belts I look for them to be much improved. Need to stay healthy at tackle though not much depth there. Magee, Deculus, and Savage are the backups and have little experience. I think Deculus can play guard or tackle wherever he's needed. Guys like Campbell and Cushenberry seem to be solid back ups. I like what I see from the highlight reels from the incoming freshmen Charles and Ingram. I think Charles will be a tackle for us, but might play some guard early on in his career.

Really excited to see Brumfield play, he's talented & like you said, waited his turn. Plus we may get more Wildman posts. Clapp needs to stay healthy

I really like the line if it's healthy. And they seem to really like Cushenberry high gives a little flexibility at both center and guard if either go down(Clapp can slide to guard of necessary). Everybody seems high on Deculus, though not sure I want to count on him so early. We seem to 7-8 deep without a huge droppoff. Just can't afford to have multiple injuries, especially at tackle like you mentioned. But really, what team can?

The project starting 5 should be one of the strengths of the offense all of the guys have experience. The worry is (as always) injuries as there isn't a ton of proven depth behind the starters

I think it's good
Malone at LT
Weathersby at RT (can probably replace Malone at LT next year)
Clapp at C
Teuhema at G
Brumfield at G will get competition from Campbell

C - Cushenberry can be groomed to take over
G/T - Deculus and Charles can give you depth at G and T this year and will be the future

Is this the best OL since Les has been at LSU?

It would be nice, but don't count on it. He'll be draft-eligible so a good year might induce him to leave.

Campbell will eventually take Brumfield's spot.

next year, if Clapp, Teuhema, Weathersby and Brumfield all stay we will have 4 Seniors starting on the line.

I can't remember when we had 4 senior starters. Need to keep recruiting to have another year of depth going into next year. I think our starting 5 will be solid this year and we have 3 capable, versatile backups.

OL will be lacking depth if we lose Clapp Teuhema and Weathersby
I'm hoping Weathersby comes back to play LT

I think Clapp probably leaves
Who knows with Teuhema since he played hurt last year

O has talked about getting stronger in the trenches. I've noticed it to be a glaring weakness in Les' more recent teams. I'm sure O and Moffitt have a better strength program planned for these guys this offseason, or at least I hope.

Danny's pocket awareness is some of the best I've seen at LSU, but it makes it exponentially more difficult to throw when under pressure. We need some absolute maulers down there.

I disagree with that. Campbell is big and all, but looked exactly like a young Booty last year. Way to slow off the line and backside running plays. With Canada, we are going to need some guards with a little speed.

Last I counted we had 7 total players on the OL that aren't freshman. We're an injury or two away of putting in someone that doesn't even know the plays.

I thought Weathersby played pretty well before he got injured.

speculating and hoping. Campbell is far from slow and is actually pretty light on his feet. I think his head was swimming and he was lost at times. If not for his shoulder surgery I think he would be starting.

As the season moves forward I fully expect Deculus to become more involved and showing indication of future greatness
