You would think the powers that be made the O hire contingent on having Aranda locked up.

I know I would, but I can't speak for the rest of the tards that claim to be "powers"! I'm very skeptical as to how this search was orchestrated, but I'm 99.9% sure it was NOT properly planned, NOT properly researched, and was completely void of rational thought.

I disagree. Aranda is a smart individual obviously but it all depends on his short and long term goals that he wants to accomplish. If he is interested in becoming a head coach soon, then he will stay at LSU. The path is more established there than Texas. The big 12 is the grave yard for D-coordinators. If he is not interested in becoming a head coach soon, and/or just wants to be a D-coordinator and is challenged to be part of a rebuilding process, then he may be interested in Texas. However, he will never get more notoriety than he did when he held Bama to 10 points in the Big 12. I say the odds are in our favor.

This is a joke right?
uhhh... yes. Maybe not a good one but I will not be surprised to see Aranda go, and we get some second rate/unproven DC. Just the way things are going. Its a good sign however that Peveto was shown the door because he definitely was not successful as a DC nor ST coach.

Why would you leave for the same position? It's not even a lateral move, with as much of a shite show UT is. He will get paid, keep Making LSU's Defense Great Again, and be hired as a head coach somewhere in a few years.
