I will say one thing, I am anxiously waiting for Garret Brumfield to rotate in. He is one of those guys who is all muscle. If he had the technique, knowledge and motive to move, LSU could have easily used him as an interior DL. Reminds me of Godchaux. You know we are going to play some 3-4 this year with Bain listed as a DE at 6'4" 299 lbs. Thats a DE sized for 3-4. Which means we will see players like Sione, Clark, and Key players of that size playing OLB. But if we come up short on LB's we have plenty of awesome DB's.

Cornerback:
1)Tre White(Starter)
2)Ed Paris(Starter)
3)Tolliver(2nd Rotation)
4)Gage/Lewis(2nd Rotation)

Safety:
1)Jalen Mills(Starter)
2)Jamal Adams(Starter)
3)Ricky Jefferson(2nd Rotation) - Monster
4)John Battle(2nd Rotation)

Defensive Back:
1)Dwayne Thomas(Rotation) - Awesome
2)Donte Jackson(Rotation) - Can you say fastest player. He will probably return punts, kick offs, and probably have a few trick plays to use his speed.

I guess I kind of always thought we'd put Pocic there.
Regardless, the general consensus seems to be that we'll have a very good offensive line, but a RS Freshman at center worries me.
What's the word on him (Clapp)? No one else worried about that position?

(1) By all accounts, Clapp is very smart and is ready to take over the position.

(2) This will give the athletic Pocic a chance to move to LG, where he can be utilized as a pulling guard on certain plays.

Let's leave it in the coaches hands. They get paid really well to make these decisions.

Pocic is our best center and our best guard. The question is not whether Pocic is better than Clapp. The question is whether Clapp is better at center then whoever would replace Pocic is at guard (Garrett Brumfield). Make sense?

Anyways, the coaches have raved about Clapp's intelligence and game-readiness for almost a year. He's going to be fine and he'll get a lot of help out there on the field from the other, more experienced players.

LSU's coaching staff has some serious experience, and success, at putting together effective offensive lines. They are looking to put together the most effective unit with the players they have available. If they have determined that the best unit has Clapp starting at center, then I have no reason to doubt Clapp is ready to play center for LSU knowing the alternatives that were available.
