1) Our Defense should be better because
A) no 3rd and Chavis
B) our former DE's didn't defend the run very well

2) Jennings played a decent game - the receivers blew numerous plays

3) We're gonna miss Connor Neighbors

I agree with hunter, he over pursued and didn't defend the run well, but I thought Rasco did.

I know what you're getting at, but for every play a receiver blew, Jennings matched it. It was an all around terrible passing performance like many other games.

No we aren't. Ducre/ Mouton baw

Another thought...

If you keep the game close you give the SEC HQ refs the opportunity to determine the outcome. Don't let "bug-eyes" control the game.

While I agree in principle, it was a late kick out of bounds, a ton of dropped passes and 3rd and Chavis that lost that game.

Don't act like that. It just makes the rest of us look like Georgia.

Should be better against power teams.....let's hope Steele doesn't coach like Alabama against spread teams....Saban has always struggled with them.

nor get much pressure/sacks. I think that despite losing starters, we will still upgrade at this position. Our only real loss was Kwon, but I'm hoping Voorhies (not even sure if he's getting playing time) will eventually step up there as he was a special player in high school, as most were at this level.

not a Jennings fan, but at the time I was saying the same thing....he actually played well enough for LSU to win the game.....he didn't get much help from the receivers.

Dropped balls and Chavis cost LSU the game, but the refs certainly earned an assist with the bs call when LSU was about to score a TD. Please spare me the I don't know while defending your beloved Alabama.....there were many articles written about that call from some of the top CFB writers....all questioning it.

All of that plus a predictable offense and defense.

Ducre is a big RUNNING BACK. He's NOT a blocking FB in the Connor Neighbors mold.

High School RB's that carried the ball a lot, DO NOT want to come into college and converted over to be blocking fullbacks that never touch the ball. If the LSU staff try to do this with Ducre, he'll get frustrated and wind up transferring out. He could do a lot of damage carrying the ball and catching passes out of the backfield, but would be totally wasted as a Neighbors type blocking fullback.

Last time I looked, John David Moore was listed as the starting FB........

If Ducre has the same attitude as you, he made a big mistake coming to LSU. With the RBs LSU has in the stable, it is inevitable he will be a fullback/Hback, getting passes out of the backfield and possible carries in short yardage situations. If he wants to be on the field, he'll have to accept that his primary role will be as a blocker, at least for his first couple of years.

In typical Chavis fashion with the game on the line, the defense allowed Bama to easily march down the field and tie the game.

If anything I just hope to see the LSU defense that used to kill last minute drives with the game on the line.

Bama was the more explosive offense, but we possessed the ball with Jennings' scrambles. We almost beat them with our bad passing game. Imagine where we could be with improved offense this season.

We controlled the ball almost the entire second half and played good defense until the final minute. Chavis has only failed to stop a team at least 8 times in those situations.

And that penalty at the goal line was BS. There's always a little shove after a play. That was bad.

Lets see...LSU QB 8-26 for a whopping total of 76 yds.... Had the game won but kicked the ball out of bounds...Cant blame those things on Chavis... LSU's D gave up only 105 rushing yards to Bama. Their 2nd lowest output of the whole season.. Can't blame that on Chavis... Lets see what else we have... Oh yes, Chavis' D gave up only 10 points to Bama until deep in the 4th quarter.....

LSU had other chances to score in the game. But I guess we can blame that on Chavis too... That ONE call did not cost LSU the game....... But typical homers like YOU just cant stand the fact that LSU justgot beat by the better team that night. Just like in 2013 when the o-line basically gave up on Mett and 1/9/12 when Miles had NO CLUE what he was up against...... As a matter of fact I can go back quite a few years and not find one game where the refs gave the game to Bama over LSU....
