What would be the score of this year's team vs....

LSU 2003?
LSU 2007?
LSU 2011?

Right now this years team is the worst of those teams but they have the potential to be the best

2003 and 2011 would destroy this year's team.

Vs 2007 would be a good game but I think the 07 team had enough balance to win.

I'm still not sold on this team yet and think we are the 4th best team in the SEC behind UGA, Ole Miss and Bama.

Too 1 dimensional on offense, too sloppy with penalties and outside of Whites punt return we have been abysmal on special teams.

Rushing Offense: best ever so far

QB play: much better than 2011

Defense: yet to prove itself. Let's see how they perform against better teams.

Hard for me to agree with that.

It's really hard to say without nostalgia playing into it. There were times in 2003 and 2007 that we thought those teams were not championship teams. I remember early in 2003 at the Western Illinois game thinking this team has a long way to go. And that FL loss was a bad loss, talk about offense being inept.

In 2007 the Tulane game comes to mind and the defense was not consistently stout as we remember. Kentucky game was one of the hardest games to watch in recent memory.

2011 was the Tyrann Mathieu show and some of his plays gave us momentum we needed to win. But remember how WV shredded our defense early on. And no first downs against GA in the first half was awful to watch (signs of things to come 1/9).

Point is, give this team some time and we may see how dominant they can be or how too hyped they are. Too early to tell in light of those other teams eventual accomplishments.

The lack of depth on the dline is going to be a issue.

The adjustment we make here will be crucial to winning any kind of championship. Wondering why Q Thomas hasn't been able to provide depth there after being a starter last year.

I don't know.

Except for the last 2 games, QB play was not an absolute liability in 2011.

It isn't now, but we forget that outside of the 2 games against Bama and the SECCG 2011 QB play was pretty good.

No. Thru the first 8 games of 2011 we had the best passing efficiency in the nation.

no love for 2006???

I think the 2006 team would have given any of the listed teams a run for their money.
