and one not so familiar. 3 errors by 2 first basemen (one on the basepaths) gave florida 2 runs and took one away for LSU.

the familiar....

1) inability to score from 3rd with less than two outs. I hope we concentrate more on that in practice going forward. this "skill" is more important in close games
2) bull pen. it just seems we are pretty average out of the pen with too many inconsistent performances and bouts of almost total loss of control with numerous walks being issued. Hess is not who i'm talking about; his performance last night was not characteristic and not the reason we lost. I don't know why LSU can't recruit better arms for the pen. I fear the scollie limit is a big reason
3) lack of hitting. this happens to all teams tho, esp when faced with excellent pitching.

reasons 1) and 2) can be improved on, imo. the rest of our team makeup was good enough to win it all. oh, and we should keep Coomes off of first base from now on.

This is what has been the head scratcher for me the last few years.

Take away Florida's number two and another arm and see how deep they would be.

We were fine going into Omaha.

The same schollie limit in every single team? And most of which don't have instate programs like HOPE or TOPS?

It is not our birthright to win the CWS every year. We had a great season. Florida was just better this year. They had more arms. It happens.

Florida had better pitching, but LSU wins the series without the mistakes and questionable coaching gut decisions.

Yes they did, and losing Walker and Peterson only made it worse.

They played better in the field than we did.

Their timely hitting was better than ours.

They deserved to win.
