Firstly, they get a lot of credit for turning around this season. The players made mistakes, and the refs definitely did not help us. All that said, we continue to lose to them due to bad coaching decisions.

1) the lack of having a 4-5 play package for Harris. At game 10, and more importantly with a bye week, there should have been plays for him that AJ has consistently shown he cannot execute. Everyone knew we would need plays in the passing game to win. Thank God Dupre can make one handed catches.

The failure of this staff to recognize the needed pass yds to beat top tier teams and to not manufacture a way to get them is a Les Miles pattern. Harris should have been getting at least one series per game all season, or at least since Auburn.

2) letting Amari Cooper beat us. He was responsible for the TD and we lost by 7. He should have had safety help on almost every play, and if he was in man then it should have been vs White. Collins is much improved, but he is not White. Even w White he should have been getting help.

It was scheme and specifically a call where you allow him a 10 yd cushion on a 3rd and 5 in zone (poorly executed) or man w no help.

He dropped a lot of balls including third down passes that would have extended Bama drives, and it wasn't due to great defense. This, in my opinion, balances out the Quinn drops.

3) Failing to play your best players at critical times. Resting Fournette most of the third qtr was questionable, but I was ok w it bc Williams ran well and I figured LF would be bruising them at the end. Instead, we see him get a few runs and have some success only to be sent to the bench.

Maybe he told the coaches he needed to rest more. Or maybe he was too nervous Yeah right. Pulling him out was terrible and incomprehensible considering the third qtr strategy.

But yeah, this was all on the players for sure.

I'm in the dumps too, but the coaches didn't lose the game.

Even with all of your suggestions, if we just catch 1 or 2 passes we likely win. The drop on 3rd down in the 4th with the clock going under 2 minutes was huge. This passing game everybody wants just isn't there and the coached obviously know this.

So Harris is completely incapable of having 3 plays with two options (receivers) on each that he could execute? If both covered he could throw it away or run?

You really think that he and the staff can't get him to that level yet?

If so, we are in trouble for many years.

I think if he was capable of this, we would have seen it happen.

Disagree. True freshman. He will grow and get better.

Jennings goes the wrong way on a crucial play inside the 20. Alexander gets a personal foul inside the 5 yd line, your kicker kicks the ball out of bounds, and you can't make a tackle in bounds. Blame it on the youth of the players

I cannot put this on the coaches either. They are trying to protect an adequate passer at best. The WRs are not precision route runners and the two Quinn drops and Melvin's drop hurt badly.

Bama's offense wasn't that good till the last drive in regulation. Mills make that tackle on the blitz LSU wins barring a miracle. Despite the kickoff.

Basically this was a 2012 copy except LSU was much more the better team in that game.

trey quinn dropping passes left and right killed us. could have kept drives going and used more time up and maybe gotten more points.

I'm pretty sure the loss is as much on me as anybody. Did not do my normal pregame ritual and did chores around the house. I'm very sorry and sincerely apologize.

We were the inferior team with the young QB and almost won. If anything our coaches did a much better job than their infallible coaching staff.

We did not make enough plays at the end. Period. A catch or two, a kickoff in bounds. Not losing contain on a blitz. Having a corner drop back on a route and it's a different ending. Being self aware enough to see that you were being baited into a personal foul penalty....

That's what we controlled. We do just one of those things and we win. Coaches put players in position to win but players have to make the plays.

This team is young and I'm damn proud of them for fighting like they did.
