Les Miles stubborness created this. His fear of playing to win rather than playing not to lose created this. He has been bringing in top classes for years. HIS offense still sucks. HE still refuses to change the offense.
Yet he still rolls out the same exact game plan. Every single year.
They do beat us. Arkansas is a weaker team than LSU talent wise. Not even really close. Ole Miss in the clock management game was a much weaker opponent. Notre Dame in the Bowl Game was a weaker opponent. The list goes on.
Again... He is present when this happens, yet absolutely refuses to change the gameplan.
Everyone is "on" the market. Les Miles wasn't "on" the market when LSU picked him up. Nor was he highly coveted. To act like no one else that is reasonably hireable could do a better job is a joke and about as defeatist of an attitude as I've ever seen. It could also get better. LSU is a hot school for NFL caliber athletes to attend. We need to strike while the iron is hot because at some point, it's going to be another school bringing in top talent for over a decade. If it gets worse, ok. LSU did everything they could to be great for as long as possible. The resources and talent are there to be a top 5 program. There is no reason to keep a past his time coach that refuses to push himself to be better.

Yes, the offense is WAY too predictable. Yes, we have a gameplan that relies on physical domination, and get owned when a team can match up physically(Bama).

Nope, that couldn't happen. Rantards are so panic stricken that we must fire the guy now, even without anybody really on the market to replace him.

i dont see whats so funny, college students protest, news runs story talking about impending doom. seems eerily similar as to what is happening.

Maybe we should protest on campus to remove Miles.
Hey it worked at Mizzou bro

maybe you should try. I bet BigJ fits in perfectly with the protesting type.

again
This did not take off until a columnist had a legitimate source that the wheels were actually in motion for Les to be ousted.

what created the media frenzy were leaks from the either the staff or AD's office you dumbass. Up until then it was mild speculation at best, things did not get accelerated until Rabalais' column.

You should start a competing protest to save his job.

post of the year? IDK about that
I mainly wanted to point out that our record is exactly where most of us thought it would be... and the same people who predicted said record are now apoplectic that our record matches preseason predictions.
Our QB can't hit a 5 yard pass. We knew that coming in. The offense is predictable. We knew that coming in.
Given what we knew before the season, it would have been logical to go for Miles' head AFTER the season, not in the damn middle. There was no reason for the kneejerk bullshite spewing from the Rant, but we see that Rantards have a ridiculously short memory when it comes to themselves. Now we have a clusterfrick. The media are looking for a story and, believe it or not, the Rant is not some obscure slouch of a website. All it takes is for one local guy to pick up on something, write a story about it, and it goes up the flagpole.
The issue isn't whether Miles should be on a ridiculously short leash or not... he should be. The issue is the idiots on this board and the fanbase in general going ballistic over something we saw prior to the beginning of the season. You people have been acting like Bama fans over the last month or so, and yes, it's much worse than it has been in the past. We derided Bama fans for a long time about it, and now look what our fanbase has become.

I agree with most everything except for this:
After everything that has been said and done to this point we have to move on now.

Well then the issue is all the pumper converts the last few weeks.
The same people that wanted miles gone before this current losing streak have been around for some time. There was never any national media backlash for all of those people. So what's changed? The new influx of converts.
Which brings us to another interesting point they've continued to ignore. You're correct in that most projected a 9-3, 8-4. Lsu is right on pace for that kind of season. So, why have so many pumpers converted?

I can honestly say I had high hopes that Harris could hit a 5 yard pass in stride...it turned our to be a pipe dream. Miles should go...but what I find comical is there are posters than think some of our players should not be held accountable its ALL the coaches fault. I'd argue the main reason we are where we are now is due to inadequate qb play...the inability to execute certain plays has had a direct impact on the effectiveness of this offense. I don't believe the ol suddenly got terrible...teams changed their strategy because they don't think BH can beat them. Its worked. Now you can blame that on poor qb recruiting/evaluating for sure.

Ignore the fact that Les was apparently dumb enough to roll into 1/9/12 with the same damned plan thinking Saban wouldn't be ready to defend it and having no plan to adjust if the option were shut down).
Man, you nailed it!
I can still see JL standing on the sideline, looking at his wrist band and rolling his eyes when plays were being signaled in.

That post explains reason and that lack thereof of the "fire him now" crowd. The "Fire him now" crowd remind me of the liberals who want to take guns away from everyone to prevent crime. Statistics show that doesnt work, just as firing a winning coach usually doesnt help the situation. LSU was the exception to the rule when Saban Left. USC, Texas, Miami, Tennessee, Nebraska, hell Tulane, Alabama are all the rule.
I think he should be fired now and I like guns.
