Want to speed up the game? Intentional walks just award them don't throw the 4 pitches.

LSU scored a run on a wild pitch with a runner on 3rd in game 1 of the super regional against UCLA in 2000 when their pitcher threw over the head of the catcher when they were trying to intentionally walk Brad Cresse. Wally Pontiff scored on the play.

I guarantee people that would want to make the last game of the series 7 innings will be pissed if lsu lost by a run on the 7 inning game and say how dumb the new rule is

What a terrible idea. Why should game 3 be shorter than the other 2?

Didn't some guy from Florida last season hit a home run off of a misplaced intentional walk pitch?

Dave Neal is in the final week of the regular season in a game that's basically been decided with a team that's sucks changing pitchers every other batter. I don't blame him.
this and the SCE coach appeared to want to clean out his nostril cavities.

It's Baseball, it takes time. Part of the game. Batters calling time, pitchers shaking off pitches, throwing to base to hold runners. All intended to get players off balance, create an advantage, cause confusion, aggravate batter/pitcher/base runner. Been going on for over hundred years, now they want to change because of TV?? Let em play the game!

Less baseball.

Is this an argument in support of his opinion or not. I'm all for less baseball personally.

They should just change the rules for ALL the games to stop after 7 innings if other team up by 8 runs. Somewhat similar to the softball run-rule. If it's a close game they should play all 9 innings.

Wrong! It was just a suggestion to consider in speeding up the game. He wasn't advocating it, just brain storming.
The season was over, the game had no meaning, and they were running out of things to talk about. They were discussing ways to speed up the games and keep baseball entertaining to the fans. Did you notice the stadium was about empty.

This won't shorten the game but the season, eliminate the tourney, or just make it with the 4 best teams. A 10th place team has no business playing for any kind of championship.

What tournament are you talking about?

I think the score had something to do with that too.

Because on sundays the teams don't have all day to play most of the time...

Yea. But I can see where on a Saturday night at 11pm he's ready to get out of there

It's his job, he can quit and do something else if he doesn't like it.

It doesn't really do much in the way of shortening the other games though

This. The conversation was about shortening games. This clearly isn't the solution. Hell, every week there are nine inning games which conclude in less time than other games take to reach the seventh inning.
