I'm thinking about making the trip to Omaha. Can anyone give advice on good places to stay for a reasonable price. I will probably get General Admission tickets has anyone ever had outfield seats at Rosenblat? If so how were they? I am assuming those are the only seats you can get with a general admission ticket.

We booked our hotel a couple of days after winning supers last year. Used priceline and got a good deal. We had GA tickets and if you get there a couple of hours early you'll have great seats. If you have GA you can sit in either left or right field.

The Doubletree downtown is only 150 a night ... I'll be cancelling my reservation pretty soon there because we're going to take the travel trailer.
As for tickets, I recommend going to upgrade your GA tickets when the box office opens in the morning for the days you are going to a game.

Lake Manawa in Council Bluffs, Iowa has a campground and is a 10 minute drive to Rosenblatt

How do you go about getting GA tickets? Can you get them online? What is teh best way. Me and 3 friends are going. We are making our hotel reservations soon. Gosh I love this time of baseball season and the fact that I am going to Omaha makes me even more excited.

I agree with JP. If you already have your GA tickets get them upgraded. Cause If you don't make it to the stadium early for some reason don't plan on getting in. If your there an hour early your late trust me I have had this experience when Texas and Rice played in 02'. Luckily we scalped some great tickets down the third base line for face value. Only $22 back then.

How early would I need to show up to get good seats with GA tickets? I plan on getting there at lease 3 hours early for the games.

Well, you're going to have to wait in a line no matter what somewhere, so why not wait in the Box Office line in the morning and upgrade your GA tickets to reserved seats rather than have to wait in the GA line before the game.
To me, it makes much more sense to upgrade GA tickets to reserved seats, not to mention it's not very expensive. Then you don't have to worry about getting in line 3 hourse before the game with no guarantee of a seat.
That said, general admission won't fill up until later in the tourney or if two "big" fanbases are playing early in the tournament.
the only teams that bring a lot of fans are Texas and LSU and to a smaller degree North Carolina. I'm sure most SEC schools would bring a large contingent if they made it with the exception of Vandy.
