Wrong.
They had back-ups in the game on the last kick-off when they didn't use the "huddled up" kickoff.

I don't understand the need to bitch about certain things. You, neither do I, know why they are in that formation but who cares?

Yes, timing is of the utmost importance on that type of kickoff. If the huddled group doesn't scatter at the right time you will either be 1) offsides or 2) on about the 30 yard line when the ball is kicked, thus giving the kickoff return team a "5 yard head start".
The back-ups would not have had enough practice time to have the kickoff timed up just right.
The kickoff coverage is good in the fact that most kickoff return teams count the formation of the kickoff team to determine who to block. When the LSU kickoff team is huddled, they can scatter in any direction and the kickoff return team can not decipher who to block as quickly.
