You make a good point. I grew up an LSU fan, my dad had tickets, went to LSU during the Curley years and now I have season tickets. Even though we were horrible in the early 90s it was still fun. You are absolutely right that there are a huge amount of entitled, bandwagon fans. But that's the way of college football.... not just here. Most all schools have had stadium expansions and poor in music. I remember going to VT when we played there and that's the first place I heard piped in music. It was terrible. But that's the way of the world now.
All that being said, I would NEVER want to go back to the Hallman years. I like competing for championships. I want LSU to get more SEC and National championships. We can't have our cake and eat it too.

Striving for 6-7 wins was fun
At first I thought this had to be a troll job, because LSU football was for the most part a joke from about 1973, when the Tigers lost that infamous game at Tulane, until Saban arrived in 2000. Literally 27 years of frustration and failure.
And then I remembered the good ol' days of Archer and Hallman when you could arrive at Tiger Stadium at 3 pm for a night game, and there was no hassle finding a parking space near the stadium, and you could walk right up to the ticket window in the stadium and buy tickets (often for a HUGE discount, as little as $2 for one game vs Arkansas!) and really savor the tailgate experience because everyone knew the game would probably be just another loss. It really WAS more innocent, and in a perverse way, more fun!

Those Indy games were awesome. Beating Florida in TS in '97. Beating UT for the SEC championship when nobody thought we could, the players had that "eye of the Tiger" swagger. It was fun. Then in '03 to win it all...storybook! Hoping CEO brings that fire back. S

Lot of old people whining in this thread. Times change. Deal with it.

And I'm sure your wife was happier when you were dating than now that you've been married forever.
You wined and dined her, took her places that she enjoyed and had to work for the sex.
Now your fat arse sits on the couch, playing video games and bitching about how things used to be.
You probably weighed about 190 when you were dating and have ballooned up to around 350 now, but still think she should let you climb on top of her for 20-30 seconds once a week for "date night."
She probably thought marriage would be this great thing that would last forever. But I bet she'd love to go back to when you were dating.
The chase is always better than the catch. If you're not happy, go root for your other team.

Lol frick you. It was not fun getting our arse kicked for years. Hell no. I take the band wagoners all day. I just wish we can win at least 10 this year also beat Bama. We gonna be on the right track for a championship soon.

I went back to La right after the championship in 2003 and couldn't believe the bandwagoners. A lot of Johnny come latelies.

You strive to be average, that's ok. You be you

There's definitely some truth to your post. I'm also a Cubs fan, and I've noticed other Cubs fans complaining about this season. Most of these particular Cubs fans just started following the team the past couple of years.
With that said, I have to admit that I'm growing a little impatient with LSU. I'm not expecting the playoffs every season like some, but they should at least be making a big bowl appearance every couple of years.

I even brought an LSU flag with me to Afghanistan in 2002. I bleed P&G. I have since the day I found out my grandfather graduated from there, and I'm proud to have graduated from LSU myself.

I agree! From camping out to get date tickets in order to see Corso and his Hoosiers get beat through Saban's first Sugar bowl (when 18 TAF points got bowl tickets) was the best of times.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.

It was certainly not. Losing to Southern Miss and Houston was not my idea of fun, and just for fun lets' include the UF 58-3 beatdown.

The games are only as fun as we, the fans, make them. Tiger Stadium could be rowdy and loud as hell for every game if the fans decided to do it. But, we don't.
