Just imagine how good it would be against 7 in the box.

I wish it would have worked with 1:50 left and facing 3rd down and four.

If we ever ran a play action pass off a fake toss dive. We might actually get an open tightend down the middle.

We ran it vs bama. TE was uncovered for a TD, but Jennings didnt see him

Don't worry, it was only game one and it was on the road with a QB's 2cd start. It won't happen as much as we want it to, but it will happen.

it works so well because LF doesnt always run up the interior line's arse, like our other RBs have done in the past. The defense collapses the middle and he takes it outside.

wasn't off a toss dive, but we did run a play action pass and hit a TE for a nice gain... and then promptly shelved that shite for the next 3 quarters, because why do it again when it clearly works....

sly as fox, that Les Miles....

I thought the same thing when I saw that. Picked up like 7 yards!

A good play...if we are going to run LF why wouldn't anyone want him with the ball as early as possible

Are there a couple different versions of the toss dive? Seems like sometimes we pulled linemen to lead into the running lane and sometimes we didn't. It seemed more effective when the linemen pulled.

Or imagine if Fournette just pulls up and chucks it...

I think the term "toss dive" is used in a symbolic way by people that want LSU to open up their offense and feature the pass and spread offense more. toss dive represents the I formation and pounding ground attact.

and frankly, other than a few air attack proponents, I think most people don't mind a strong ground game but feel we need to mix it up and use our teams fantastic wide receivers and our QB more often.

and I agree. if we are to be a factor in the SEC and NC race, we need to do both. one dimensional ain't gonna hack it.

...and then run 87 yards for TD, only to be called back for "illegal contact" or "holding" that happened 20 yards away from the actual play.

The toss dive is a running play where the qb tosses it to the RB, then the RB runs until he gets tackled.
