OL popped out to block minter...Minter violated LB rule #1 and went under the block (Bad Angle)...had he engaged and scrapped over the top he would have at least been in position to make contact with Yeldon!

Minter's Fault

At the very least if Minter plays over the top of this block Yeldon cuts back into the defense...

No, did I say that? I said at least play it and see what happens? Every game takes on a life of it's own, especially for these Tigers!

I understand that, but if the game should be played I would have AT LEAST a 50% chance of being correct that GA beats us. You guys are acting like it would have been a fricking certainty that we win. I feel like we would have lost.

Mills

Couldn't be Mills the play was a called blitz...Unless Reid tried to call the blitz off. If you look at the linebackers on that play they show blitz then bail

After watching this play over it seems like the Lb should have been playing man on the RB instead they were playing zone...and that my friend is coach's call

Certainly is. I don't believe we would have, but mine is the only opinion that everyone is saying is stupid. Apparently everyone forgot how shitty we were at times.

We wouldnt have beaten UGA in ATL.

At this point who gives a shite. We would have beaten satan 3 years in a row and had a shot at the SEC.

Tm7 would have made a difference.

Please don't say we, you are obviously not much of a fan!
Everyone aware of the O problems but to say completely impossible is crazy. They probably would be favored by only 4-7 or so!

You mean to tell me that we couldnt muster double digit fricking first downs against UF but we would have beaten UGA? To say that it's dumb that I believe we wouldnt have beaten UGA is down right moronic. We were a TOTALLY different team on the road, and the Ga Dome aint in Louisiana.

Well we were also a different team after the UF game. Mett threw for 298 yards against Bama and we ran for 250+ against USCe. So, yes your comment that "we wouldn't have beaten UGA" is downright stupid.

Yeah, your comments just got even dumber. You are saying it is completely impossible for LSU to have beaten UGA. You are a frickin idiot.

frick you. Just because I can realize our deficiencies doesn't make me less of a fan. Not to mention, I am an alumnus I earned the right to say we. I didn't just buy a hat at Circle K.

We would not have played UGA at home.

ETA: But you're right, no reason to bring obvious examples into this discussion.

To be fair to Mills, Yeldon sold the chip block really well. In that defense, Mills' assignment is to blitz unless you see the RB go out, indicated by the RB running "across the eyes" (running a looping pattern away from the blitzer to get free). Yeldon, instead chipped in on Mills, faking a block and then slipping inside of the blitz to get free. A well coached technique that took advantage of a tendency we had shown in the aTm game (the play had gone for a TD in that game as well, but it was called back for a block in the back administered to Reid).

Many say that TM7 would have picked it up, but I am not sure. More likely, he would have taken a skinny track to the QB and had a better chance to disrupt the pass in the air.

Bama called the right play against our tendency. Kind of hard to beat that when it happens (and yes, LSU had called a good gameplan against Bama's tendencies all night, so don't take this as a Miles bashing Saban loving post).

Yeah, sound like a real alumnus to be proud of. Kind of person that makes this board not fun and will tune out in future.

I posted the play up top, Yeldon never crossed Mills face...Yeldon stepped up, Mills had a str8 line to McCarron...had Minter been in man he would have slid to outside to cover Yeldon. Instead he bailed to hook curl...what's funny is that Yeldon flared into open space without anyone there to cover him...

This was a coaching decision that cost us the SEC West title at the very least

As opposed to someone who just thinks they will win every game they play? Sorry I am a realist.
