Certainly merits dishonorable mention in the concern department.

It is what it is but its clear that Aranda is going to have to try and scheme to cover for our DL.

This definitely an area where i hope recruiting help is on the way.

I didn't focus on Lacatoure but I didn't notice him doing much

We're missing two our best. RL and AK will make a big difference. I wouldn't call them a concern yet.

Is it really a concern though? Or are you just looking for downvotes?

GG and CL are not the answer for sure and both should be providing backup off the bench. But with the missing DL returning, things should change soon.

DL looks very good to me. We are a little thin, though, so we need Herron back in the rotation. Plus, as Alexander gets in better shape we'll start dominating the interior.

Alexander and Lawrence can dominate. Lacouture, Gilmore, and Herron gives you five guys to play three positions. Also, it's really 2 1/2 positions, because we often have only two lineman on the field.

You can't evaluate Glen Logan against an FCS team, so next week might show whether he or Ferrell can be counted upon in the real games.

Rogourou was plowing through the OL in the 4th.

I think you guys don't realize the impact of having the best DE in the nation not playing

Key will command a double team every time.

Corey Thompson and Chaisson finna eat Saturday

I do see collapsing pockets WITH maintained gap control. That was the key against Manziel and it will be key against Fitzpatrick.

LaCouture is doing his job. He might not be spearing QBs, but he absolutely refuses to be moved out of the way. Seen some call him a good space eater. Excellent, because it's his job to do just that on most plays. Just be a space eater WHERE they need you to be, which means don't get moved. Hold his ground. And he's doing it.

But yes, can be better play on the DL as a whole. I still think Aranda is holding back a little bit, maybe a bunch. Getting Herron and Lawrence back will probably change how they play completely.

While we have some concerns, at this point I don't think any level of the defense is one of them.

No way 18 should start, sorry. No power DE has really shown off too well either. Let's go cheetah with Key and Klavion on 3rd. Lawrence and/or Alexander in the middle. Gilmore may need to be the hybrid that 18 plays.

Agree. The 1yd drop in avg rush ypc vs underwhelming opp is more serious imo.

He was 2nd among DL in tackles with 3 (tied with Logan). Ferrell led with 4.
