I was there for that one. I remember being there ridiculously late with my very pregnant wife. Pretty sure I remember the sound of that fg hitting the upright a split second before the stadium erupted.

Getting outplayed in our season and home opener by SJSU and barely scrapping out a win. Bad omen for a long and terrible season.

We kind of have it on cruise until the 4th quarter when they mount a furious comeback. They get it to 24-30 with seconds left on the clock before throwing back to back incompletions into the emdzone from

That was the very first Chavis signature performance. Doesn't get attention because we lucked out and won.

So, 2010 UNC is a Chavis like signature game because the offense went dead in the second half? GTFO

Quincy Carter looked like the best QB in the nation.

And every one in the stadium EXCEPT the LSU coaching staff knew the last critical play was going to Champ Bailey. We were #6 in nation going into that game after the 10-win season in 97. First 10 win season in like forever back then.

That's the one! Thank you. Many beers were consumed that evening

I was watching this game at a lady friend's place. Tigers were choking it up at halftime, so we retired to the bedroom for some adult activities. The TV was still on, however, and as the Tigers made their comeback, we moved back into the living room.

Pretty damn good night!

Appy State in 2008

First game of the season, Hurricane Gustav Churning just offshore. Kickoff is moved to 10:00 am to allow for evacuations. Stadium half empty.

That was a crazy situation that I will always remember.

I have a couple of more obscure weird games:

1994 vs Mississippi State- This game featured a low low kickoff that bounced straight off a State player's helmet and right to a Tiger for a very strange onside kick. Later in the game was Eddy Kennisson's insane 110 yard (if you count getting the ball around the 2, running backwards into the endzone, and then 100 yards) punt return for a TD. That was a fun game to watch.

1996 vs Mississippi State- This wasn't weird due to the game itself, but the weather. It was a sunny and unseasonably hot day game at kickoff, but a heavy thunderstorm rolled in by the second quarter. When it was done, the skies cleared again. I remember this because I was in the band, and we were told to leave our raincoats in the seats when we went down for halftime. Then, another much heavier storm came in before we marched and dumped rain on us the rest of the game. I have never been so soaked in my life. I also remember that the field was a giant lake by the end. It was so bad they had to completely re-sod the field over the open date before the infamous Bama game two weeks later. Speaking of which....

1996 vs Bama- it was Game Day's first visit to Tiger Stadium. LSU rolls down the field and scores a TD on their first drive. Called back for a penalty. Then misses a routine FG. Then Herb Tyler gets knocked out. Then everything just falls apart. For a brief moment when we all thought we were up 7-0, everyone in the stadium knew this game and the Tigers' SEC West were in the bag. The rest of the game went downhill fast.

1979 USC game... LSU outplayed a team of future pro players all over the field... The guttsiust performance I have ever seen the Tigers played outmanned bigtime and had the game won... I usually don't blame the refs for the outcomes of games but that one was an exception.........That was one loss that stayed with me the longest...

Mississippi State game in the late 90's, (last time they won before last year) when their rb scored a td to win it by rolling into the endzone from the 3 yard line on 4th down. Refs said they didn't see it and called it a touchdown. Drove me fricking crazy. Welcome to LSU football.

Les faked a punt on the very first drive of the game from the ten yard line. THAT is more fitting for Les

Which Auburn game was it where we lost on a bullshite penalty in either a PAT or FG? I know we played at Auburn and Saban was coaching.

2006 Auburn was bizarre in that it's the only game where I'm completely convinced the refs were paid off.

2006 was actually a bad year for LSU officiating. I recall a phantom holding call negating an early TD Against Florida and then Russell fumbles te next play.

Worse, against Tenn their punt returner touched the ball and LSU recovered. Refs ruled he didn't touch it, even after replay showed the ball changing trajectory after hitting his arm.
