The quick hitch to Moreau was a thing of beauty and very successful. Apparently, we can only do that once a game, whereas jet sweeps are utilized every other play now.

The quick slant in the Troy game netted a touchdown. Then not seen again.

Can we at least TRY 2 or 3 of those quick passes a game? Shirley that's not impossible. (I know, don't call you surely.)

Zero passes over the middle too.

Is Les Miles still calling plays?

We need to throw to RBs and TEs more. We seem to have some success in doing it.

Don't think our OL can hold a pocket for a deep passing call plus our QB is marginal and our WRs aren't good.

Etling underthrows deep balls, overthrows short passes. frick me, he can't even hit a screen pass.

It just baffles me that we don't try it more, even though we seem to have success every time we do.

I think there were 20 jet sweeps called in this game. First 10 or so worked to some degree but Florida was stuffing them toward the end.

Not to mention our oline is younggggg. Do 2/3 step drops and get rid of the ball quickly. If we can see it, how come the coaches can’t?

DE has hurt this team with his limits.

DE16 doesn't see the field well, a requirement to throw over the middle.

It is seriously mind boggling that this has been going on for years... I mean, every team they play doesn't expect them to throw quick, short, over the middle passes, so why don't, you know, do that coaches. Gotdamn,it's infuriating

We can’t seem to leave behind the Miles-era offensive problems.

This is going to continue to haunt this team with the timing issues between QBs and receivers. The lack of coaching (game planning) is obvious in 2 phases:
Special teams
Intermediate passing game.
I don’t know if DE is trying to not throw an int for fear or if he lacks anticipation or simply can’t see over the line because our line can’t create passing lanes.
When Brennan threw one of his ints against Syracuse (I think), it was on the receiver for being in the wrong spot. Frankly, I’d rather lose competively and develop some semblance of a passing game this year than win games like yesterday.

The last time we saw short slants, etc was with Mett, Landry and OBJ. Led the nation in 3rd down efficiency. Little did we know two of them would be tied for the record for Most catches after 3 seasons in the NFL.

I agree with the short passes especially a few over the middle...our qb play is average and very inconsistent at best...along with our young offensive line so it's not all his fault...at times he is just running for his life
Also think that shorter routes would help our recovers who are young too...

Correction: We are missing any type of passing game.

We throw over the top and to the outside. very few short to medium passes across the middle. Met was the last QB to do that consistently. I'm sure they don't trust Etling to make those throws. But it does limit the offense.

The missing ingredient is a QB that can complete passes to wide open receivers

These suggestions are great if Etling could learn to throw. This O would look a ton better if he could connect on the easy passes.
