The "it was the first game, a road game, against a good team" argument is flawed

We started great. Harris was throwing well. True, Penalties hurt us. We got up big, were in control, and Les Miles basically parked the bus. He let the fans back in the game. Folks, we were worse in the second half because our play calling made us worse, not because of jitters.

Think you're the first to mention this?

alter account?

But, you are correct.

This wasn't due to the first game jitters....and this wasn't a "good" team they played. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I suspect time will prove that out.

Sounds like OP is mentioning it AGAIN because this board is filled with the FAN POLICE trying to censor discontent with a poor game plan.

DP and his receivers are among the elite in the SEC and that little back they've got can wreak havoc. What the hell are you talking about?

Anytime you win a road game in the SEC the game plan is just fine. I agree we need to play action more and get Harris outside the pocket but no reason to run 4 wrs out every play like some are advocating.

Keeping our defense fresh is what will win games and championships.

Yes, we went in a shell and protected our second time ever starting QB in the second half. Is that what you wanted me to accept? Ok.

get back to me in a few weeks. They have shite for an OL, and are terrible in the secondary. Don't buy the hype...teams have figured out how to contain dp......what have they lost, 4 out of their last 6 or so...watch. Who are they going to beat in the SEC. I'm not sure they will be favored more than 1 or 2 sec games this year...if that.

We should have lost because we allowed them to try a FG that is a great kick at the NFL level??

We should have won by a larger margin, but we didn't deserve to lose the game. MSU will win 7-8 games this year, they are a good team

Their SEC Schedule is as follows:

AT AUBURN
AT Texas A&M
Kentucky
At Missouri
At Arkansas
Alabama
Ole Miss

They will be underdogs in 6 out of those 7. Can they win some of them? Sure. I absolutely see them starting 0-3 in conference...and who knows after that.

based upon? Their nail biter with Southern Miss...or the fact Miles let them back into the game.

They will be underdogs in 6 out of their next 7 SEC games. They will be fortunate to make a bowl game.

Also, yes, on the field goal...and you might remember....I assume you expected the five yard penalty that moved it back to NFL level right? There is no defending what happened in that game....and that's not against the players...that's ALL LES MILES.

Stupid.

This doesn't even make sense. The reason they had to kick it late is that we were face fricking them the first half. They were only close because we let them be there on offense. If they didn't have that delay of game at the end, we lose a game we were up 21-6 in.

No we didn't deserve to lose the game, but the only reason the kick was that long was a lucky delay of game with less than a minute on the clock. How can you keep defending the nonsense that has been our offensive strategy since 2008...
