I'm another LSU fan living in gump land. Trust me - I hated Alabama long before I ever heard of Nick Saban.

It's your own damned fault for living there. If you want to contribute to their economy and pay taxes in their state, then you have no reason to complain about them.

I am an eighth grade English teacher in Mobile. There is not a day that passes that I do not hear about the greatness of Alabama, Roll Tide Roll, and what not (If I had a nickel for each time an adolescent told me "LSU stands for Loser State University" and thought he was being original, I would have retired years ago).

I remind my students daily that wearing a crimson A in my room is profanity and sign of poor home-raising (we have a strict uniform policy, which makes getting the crimson out of my room that much easier). I give even less respect to the Auburn fans in my room. I remind that that they are in enemy territory.

Anyway, this year started the same way until about three weeks ago. Amazingly, all I have heard is the quiet tones of "Ya'll are probably going to beat us this year." This is from both students and my rabid colleagues as well (I think this is the psychological warfare setting in from seeing LSU win on TV week after week).

Everything Tigah posted in his link is what we live with daily. But, when given the accountability afforded by dealing with them face-to-face and LSU's current level of dominance, the natives can be quite civil. : )

Living anywhere where your team is not the predominate team probably sucks. Same goes for BAMA fans in BR.

Oklahoma fans are the same way. They talk about how the Big XII is the better conference this year, and how it doesn't matter what FSU is ranked now they were 5th when OU beat them. I remember sometime after the WVU game, one radio host (Al Esbach) said that FSU would kill WVU if they played. He was pissed when LSU moved to #1 in the AP. I love this one though, "OU doesn't want to move to the SEC becuase their academics aren't good enough". he didn't have an answer for the guy who explained to him the SEC graded out higher than the Big XII in academics.

Also in Mobile. Agree completely. Don't forget that Paul Bryant empowered God to do the things he does.

Nuts4LSU--feel free to lick my sack. I live here because it's better for my family. I'll bet you're a tree hugging liberal who is likely a congressional aide-- not unlike the one that Clinton used to hold his cigar. Have a nice day.

Especially when they are winning. I miss the good ole days when Shula was coaching, they were pretty quite then.
