This ain't no decline. It's a free fall off of a cliff.

Keeping him coach after 15 caused this rot and then a terrible hire compounded this.

I'm sure the folks on the Titantic were thinking this as well.

Miles obviously didn't leave a championship team and left a roster with issues. Those issues have only been compounded since Orgeron was officially hired. If I didn't know any better I would say he is tanking this season in order to buy himself an extra one on the back end.

it's not quite up to snuff, that is for sure, but i think the real reason it seems so bad is:
1.) so many freshman and new starters.... mistakes will be made... if they were upperclassmen majority starters, i'd be much, much more concerned

2.) expectations were pushed so high by reports from CEO about the offense, which has been a problem for a while now... as fans, we ate this shite up and took it to mean we'd be vastly different...

3.) our strength and conditioning program needs an overhaul... something ain't working.... we looked soft and out of shape... not sure what is going on, but we don't have the physical edge and dominance we used to .... time for a change...

Moffit and miles should have been gone in 15, really earlier but I don't expect that level of competence out of joe king and our boosters

if we tank, he won't be here after next season, if it's ANYTHING like this one.... he was a controversial hire, to many fans, as it was.... having 2 very subpar seasons would only strengthen the argument from the non-CEO crowd...

i agree wholeheartedly... Moffit is still living off past successes, and is only still here because of name recognition.... obviously, there are better S&C guys out there that are getting results out of their guys.... we aren't...

and i'm not talking about being able to bench a small car or clean press a fridge, but functional strength that is translated to on field performance... obviously what we are doing, ain't working... our DL, even at the beginning of the game, fails to get any push, even vs. the likes of Syr... that's a problem...

True, but look at how much they've already managed to shift the discussion. The focus is entirely on the roster and depth. How many times has anyone questioned him on his role in the roster/depth or on actual coaching decisions? So far he is successfully creating a "Year 0" narrative.

i'd also include the amount of quality depth and players from attrition....

Tyron Johnon, John Diarse, Trey Quinn.... those guys would give our offense a huge boost right about now... Teuhuma would definitely solidify our OL more... hell, even Andy Dodd would be an important part, as it would allow to keep Clapp at G...

granted, some of the guys left on their own, and some were booted, but maybe we should be like the Bama's and Ohio St's of the world and be a little more lenient or something... i mean shite... seems we are pretty quick to just toss guys who are quality players, almost, it seems, without thinking of the ramifications of that action...

BUT we have a qb in the future. the product on the field this year would be worse if miles was still coach because he had mailed it in. this team is very young on defense and wr and w/o a quality OL we are very limited in what we can do. that's tough but that's reality. who the coach is for THIS YEAR really would make no difference; we just don't have the trench players (OL).
