Any reason why we're allowed to pay Miles his contract over double the remaining time but we're not allowed to do the same for O? If the buyout clause is the same we'd have until 2025 to pay it all off.

My pleasure. I mean that literally. Finding the buyout to be less than expected has been the best part of the weekend.

You just made mine as well. Will bump the shite out of this all day tomorrow.

$1.7 mil? Out of a department that profited $55 million during the 2015-2016 academic year, That is very manageable even if TAF contributes 0 the buyout

The LSU athlete dept can easily afford to fire him. The biggest hurdle is the public perception. It looks bad to fire anyone after a year on the job. It looks bad to hand over another $9 million to a coach for not coaching. I'm hoping they will say screw perception.

Different contracts. Different agents.

So if Les finds a job and we fire Orgeron, it'd cost $2m now and an additional $15k a month on top of what we were paying Miles but for 2 less years I think.

Fire him 12/1/2017 and go heavy after Chad Morris

It also looks bad when LSU has invested more than most of the teams on their schedule and there is a very real possibility of ending the season 3-9. It's hard to sell this product to the fans when everyone sees extremely obvious issues with the head coach and AD. If the team misses a bowl game LSU can't afford to have O and Alleva hang around.

That's assuming A&M hasn't hired him yet. If A&M wants Morris they're going to get him since he went to school there. Frank Wilson would be the easiest to get but an extremely risky hire. I personally like DJ Durkin, but again that's another extremely risky hire.

You and me both. Its still 95% O gets another year...but at least there is a chance now.

I think Frank, while a bit of a risk, is a potential great hire both short term and long term. He’s proven his stripes recruiting for LSU and the Louisiana area, has shown he can help build up a program like he is doing at UTSA so far, and is a guy that people like in general.

If LSU aimed higher but came down with Frank as coach, I’d be satisfied with the prospects for LSU’s future.

Both him and Durkin are huge risks because they've had very little experience being head coaches even though they've been successful. It's quite the jump going from UTSA to LSU. It'd also be interesting to see how the LSU fanbase would embrace their first black head football coach.

Whether he stays or goes, he gets his money. If he stays on the payroll ruining our football program, he continues to get paid and the buyout continues to go down, but he's already getting it in salary. If we fire him, he gets his buyout out. Sounds like he needs to be fired so we can try to turn around the program faster and make Aleva pay O his buyout.

1. President
2. Athletic Director
3. Entire coaching staff including O

That should be the steps on the procedure right now.

I don't understand waiting till 12/1/2018 to fire him. One more season with him will set the program back 5 years.

Recruits know he will be gone. Recruiting will tank.

Hate to say it but after 2 years of O and 2 bad seasons, LSU hires Frank Wilson? We will need to hire a big name for fans and recruiting sake to re-energize.

Exactly, recruits know even if we don't fire him this season that he won't be here very much longer.

If history is repeating itself, we are at the Hallman phase. There is going to have to be a Dinardo phase before the Saban phase. We are several years away from righting the ship when you consider that the down grade started 3-4 years ago. I don't care what our recruiting classes finished at, the product on the field does not and has not reflected it. Before anything can change, we need a AD!!
