Caught the 30 for 30 on Bo Rein last night. 34 year old head coach. I wonder how successful his career at LSU would have been

I believe that he would've been more successful than Stoval, who had an up and down career, and would've poised us to race to the top after the Bear retired in 1982. Like Little Nicky I think he would've left us for the NFL, so who knows who they replaced him with? In a perfect world Spurrier, but we all know the higher ups at LSU are as far from perfect as you can get.

Better than Miles with less talent.

From Wikipedia:
"Rein was an advocate of the coaching philosophy of Ohio State's Woody Hayes for whom Rein played."

Sounds like Les Miles, but instead of a Woody clone, we got a "Bo" clone.

The competition in the ACC isn't comparable to SEC competition. Sorry.

Bo was considered one of the most innovative minds of his time. Hard nosed like Woody but much more offensive minded.

I don't deny that. However, Les was using that same philosophy 40 years later.

That's one of the horribly tragic 'what might have been' stories in sports. It's crazy to think if he would have turned out to be as good as everybody thought he was going to be at the time, how different LSU's football history would have been.
