On defense stuff the run, force Bo Wallace to throw down the field to beat you. He could easily do this, however he also has it in him to potentially throw 3 picks. It's still the best strategy.

On offense you must be extremely aggressive and go down the field. Ole Miss' defense is legit and you will simply not be able to move the ball down the field with vanilla plays. The best chance of gaining is to get it in huge chunks.

Do it.

You forget who our coach is. This offense is anything but aggressive and won't change anytime soon.

We will live and die by the run. If we can get ahead of the down and distance and don't get ourselves into 3rd and long, then we have a chance.

Why arent some of you guys coaching D1 schools instead of your day job? Thats a top notch game plan.

No offense. but this is exactly the wrong thing you want to do. I am so glad you are not any type of coach or assistant.

What we have to do is play them on defense, like we played Kentucky. Oc course they have more talent, but they are a pass first spread team. The pass game is what you have to worry about. Their run game is terrible.

The only power 5 team they have played with a rush attack worth anything, has been Bama, and that was the reason Bama kept it close. They lost because of turnovers, and having a young secondary. We are 16th in the country in turnover margin, Alabama is 88th. We are 4th in the country in pass defense, Bama is 21st. We are 28th in rush offense, Bama is 26th.

The keys are to
1) run the ball a lot and effectively
2) connect on just enough passes (I want to throw no more than 20)
3) don't turn the ball over
4) get good special teams play (like against Kentucky)
5) play typical LSU defense

We don't need to sell out to stop the run, that is retarded.

I believe the key to winning this game in particular is to focus on the process of scoring a greater amount of points than our quality opponent does.

Score one more point than they do.

I think the best plan is to play sound defense and pound the rock while taking calculated risks down field..

Bo Wallace is garbage and at some point will try to give the game away.

Yeah, well, no kidding. The problem is the Ole Miss is stout. Given that you will probably not be able to run effectively, what do you do.

My suggestion is to run a lot, but ineffectively (not that we want to be ineffective). This is better than getting pass happy, which will result in QB sacks, fumbles and interceptions.

The OP didn't suggest we sell out. He just said we should stuff it.

The winning strategy is to run, run, run, punt; then stuff them. Eventually we spring more big plays than they do. Les and Hugh are going to be operating similar game plans.

Scoring more points then them over the course of 60 minutes of play usually works.

ETA: Of course, Tennessee 2010 would disagree.

Injecting Beckwith and Adams into this defense was like giving Popeye a can of spinach. It's on now.
