The 2012 scenario that I fear...

....would for the season to play out for us this year like it did last year for Alabama. If we were to blow out everyone and then lose to Alabama at home in a close game, there would be no chance that the voters would allow a rematch if Alabama were to run the table. Even though the situation would be the same (assuming every one else has a loss), there would be such a backlash that LSU would definitely get screwed.

We would get left out at the end, but I think it would be because either USC or another team is going to be undefeated this year.

Possible....but I also believe it is possible that there would be some positive sentiment/momentum for LSU in that scenario (assuming no one else went undefeated)...

"So Alabama got another shot at LSU last year, but we're not going to give LSU another shot at Alabama this year? ... that's not right."

That's a possibility. Depends in large part if USC or Oregon or Oklahoma can get through the season undefeated.

In that case LSU has no chance of playing for an NC.

If everyone has a loss then there's a real chance we see a repeat of 2011 if the SEC is viewed as head and shoulders better than all other conferences and Bama is clearly considered the best team in the nation.

if we can't beat bama at home with Mett, I'll be too bummed to care. Don't think it will be closer than 2 or 3 td's anyway.

If LSU loses to Bama, LSU doesn't deserve to play for a NC, just like Bama didn't deserve it last year. Bama did not win their division nor the SECC. Did not deserve it. Then the Miles decision to not pull Jefferson............

This would make entirely too much sense.

I think even some Bama fans are kind of expecting a loss in Baton Rouge. Of any game to win, I feel most confident about that game, kinda like last year with Arkansas.

LSU holds an emotional edge a mile long for that one. Probably for the next five years...

And i can guarantee you that saban would not push for lsu being in the title game the way miles did for bama last year

We are not losing to Bama at home if we stay reasonable healthy and Mett is 1/2 as good as many on here claim him to be.

But you are right in thinking there will be no "do over" this season.

As long as we have a good QB, not worried about anything football-wise. Hopefully Metts won't keep us on edge all year.

Haha, we ould have been left out last year. in fact only 2 teams would have made it over bama. A 1 loss ND or a 1 loss big 12 champion OU. USC if they were eligible.

The more likely, and scarier scenario, would be LSU demolishing Bama only to lose on the road to Arkansas. Then for Bama to jump into the game because their loss was "earlier in the season".

I might just have to jump off a high bridge if that scenario plays itself out.

My worst scenario is Mett breaks his leg!
