He still doesn't get it. He would love to be defined by that last play?? Down against an inferior team, looking lost in the chaos of the final moments? Even if the score stands, it's another miracle come from behind play. Why does it have to be that way? You have the better team. Just go out and win that game by a TD and call it a day.

His answers are just as gibberish as they ever were. They don't even answer the question being asked. He doesn't seem to have a clear grasp of what the issues really were or why he wasn't successful.

But I do appreciate the way he handled this on a personal level.

ETA: His next job is probably not going to be coming very fast, and if it does it's going to be a BIG step down. That will be telling. You are what the market says you are, and I don't see much market for Les Miles right now.

Good luck. You're about to be flamed by the apologists.

They ask him: what went wrong?

Les' answer: Let that one second define me.

Wtf?

That one second was the straw that broke the camels back. He was defined well before that and I'm not saying that's all bad

Agree with time to go, great guy screw that. Platitudes, high road crap are to keep him from being fired with cause and not getting the buyout. He's trying to sell himself for his next job. When it's time to save his hide, he's always known how to use the media.

And largely defined by the sports media which lampooned him regulatory. Remember the Flava Flav clocks on game day the week after the Ole Miss debacle? Of course now we're assholes for letting him go.

I agree completely. He's handling this well and with great class, but I really don't think he gets it.

You don't get it.

Rinaldi asked him to describe that last second in the context of his entire career. Is there a more Miles play than that one to go out on?

Rinaldi - Why do you think you were fired?

Miles - Because they wanted more production. More wins.

I think he gets it just fine.

That isn't what they asked, at all.

If this team looks a lot better under Coach O than it did under Les, his potential job list will be drastically reduced.

Good guy or not, if you can't do the job we hire you for successfully, you don't deserve to keep it

I disagree with "wasn't successful." He was in about every single game to the end throughout his tenure at LSU. That's all I ever expected or wanted out of my Tigers. Fight until the end w chance for victory. His style was boring but the results were phenomenal for the most part. We had chances to win both games we lost on final drive this season. Just didn't happen. Players need to be accountable as well. I would like to have seen Les complete this season. I think he was on the right track to "run the table." Oh well - let's hope change is good!

I'm thankful for everything Miles did. With that being said I'm so glad I don't have to listen to his excuses

By losing to a shitty Auburn team who couldn't score a touchdown with our supposedly uber-talented and experienced team that was supposed to make a run?

of all the dumb things Miles has stated this is the dumbest. or is it? saying he's fine (not would love as you state) with being defined by that last play is non-sensical and, imo, an indicator he doesn't really give a shite what others say.
