I'm not sure how much his stock would improve with a transfer. He'd have to sit out a year, learn an entirely new system, and have 1 year to perform.

I'm thinking that he believes he has the raw skills to play pro ball in a Harvin type position. By declaring, he can concentrate 24/7 on honing those skills, training with a professional trainer, and attending combines. If he can impress 1 team to gamble a late round draft pic, or even sign him as a free agent, he can get into camp and work with pro coaches while getting paid, hopefully developing over time.

Would he be magically unable to have that same opportunity next year?

I'm not suggesting a transfer is the best move. I'm saying that Toliver's tweet should be used to support his decision to stay...not leave.

But, if staying at LSU is not an option (presumably because he has some sort of issue that can't be resolved) then he is basically choosing to accept the scenario that Toliver was tweeting about that he regretted. His stock as a prospect that is affected by on field performance will never be lower than it is right now.

Well, this situation is a little different. But obviously, this shows Shep has no faith in the QB play next year

I don't think it is lack of faith in the QB but lack of faith in the offensive play calling.I definitely think the QB play will be much improved with Mett.Hopefully, no controversy at that position next season.

It's pretty obvious that LSU WR's haven't been too keen on either the coaching staff, or the offensive direction.

does tolliver have his degree? he certainly doesn't have an NFL career to speak of...

i wish the best for him, but his early entry would have been useless. ...undrafted and currently on the detroit lions practice squad

The difference between Shep and TT is astronomical. TT had a decent career already before his senior year. Shep, although I believe he is a great athlete and his upside is high, has not shown the pro scouts squat. Next year he has all the opportunity to improve his draft stock with a new QB and having such an unproductive year this season. He is not going anywhere if you ask me. Once he calms down and realizes he prob won't even get drafted high enough he will refocus on being a Tiger next year.

It always seemed like RS could never catch the ball in stride.

Yeah...usually that has something to do with inaccurate passing

Let's not be crazy here. JJ rarely hit anyone in stride
