Clearly, the interior of the D line has not been stout enough. The #1 reason we lost the games that we lost was because of the 5 to 7 yard gashes up the middle which led to PA passes that burned the secondary. Rasco and Ego haven't gotten off blocks and the LBs have been too slow or else out of position to help. If Iowa finds the same success, then expect another gut wrenchingly close game.

Limit those to 2 or 3 yard runs without stacking the box and win this game. Very interested to see how Chavis addresses this with young players next year because it really is what separates this good team from greatness.

I expect a great game on Wednesday.

I hope the time away from football has helped A.Johnson heal from whatever physical ailment he's clearly been struggling with.

Pretty much a given. I'm not sure where the 45-10 predictions are coming from. The teams are very evenly matched imo and their run defense is much better than ours which really matters over four quarters.

Half the Rant thinks we can't beat Slippery Rock, and half the Rant thinks we'd beat an NFL playoff contender on any given day.

I agree, the middle of our defense has been a weakness. I believe our middle linebackers have been the biggest issue.

If I were Chavis I would stack the box against the run and bring pressure up the middle. I like our ability to plays sideline to sideline. If we make them throw, I like our chances.

Same with every opener, and every bowl game. TCU, UDub, Oregon.

Figure LSU by 7-10 but will be tight til the very end.

I watched almost every Iowa game this season and when the Iowa vs Ohio St game came up, I posted on fb that morning that Iowa would upset them. That they have a way of playing great in the big game. My buddy "hawk fan" said no way man. Said 37 to 17, and im being nice. I believed they would use that TE all game. NOPE. those boys play like champions for 1 half. They stay in the game with TE play. PA to the TE. Im telling you, shut that down and its over.

Not sure where the over confidence comes from. We lost to Ole Miss and could easily lose this game too.

Play Beckwith more instead of Welter. Problem becomes less of problem.
