Team Travel to Gainesville

Flying to Florida on Thursday or Friday is out the window due to player safety and possible circumstances of area airports.
I can only see a scenario where the team flies into Gainesville or another Central FL airport the morning of the game.

Hope the airports are open. The one in Orlando closed for all 3 storms (Charley, Frances, Jeanne) in 2004.

LSU traveling is more than just the team, it's all the auxiliary staff I feel sorry for. They're going to be right in the middle of that shite on the roads

Assuming there's minimal damage, from a weather perspective given the current models, they could fly into South Florida on Friday night.

The team will fly to Ocala once it is safe to do so. Then they will play a football game at some point thereafter. The gametime will be pushed back to either Saturday night or Sunday afternoon...and LSU will fly in when it is safe to do so. I really don't see what the uproar is all about. The storm will be gone. It will be up to Florida to handle the problems that the hurricane leaves in its aftermath, such as power outages, shortage of manpower to work the game, etc. This will NOT be LSU's problem. They will fly in safely, play a game in nice weather, and fly home.

I want to see how the admins handle this situation. Don't send these kids off to Florida.
Keep them in BR

flying into Tallahassee or Tampa will not be a problem

The already said the team will likely fly into Tampa

Equipment travels by truck right? Might be tricky.

Thank goodness somebody thinks like me. Ya'll are getting your damned panties in a wad b/c you wanted a homegame in tiger stadium. The highest forecast winds are 30 mph Friday night. Tigers can fly in Thursday, ride out the thunderstorm and be ready to go Saturday. Get a brain morans!

In the event there is a game, this is one leg that UF has to stand on since this region won't be affected.
It is still astonishing the resistance that is being given

Could easily ride it out in Pensacola or Mobile easier than South Florida.
Coming in from the East will be much easier than from the South. The chances of damage to infrastructure in the area is fairly high.
Hopefully the team can get there with no one getting hurt and from a fan perspective we still get to see it on tv if there is power.

I had a flight into West Palm Beach tomorrow. It was already canceled as of last night.
Was meeting up with a friend for his bachelor party (he's a UF alum), we called an audible last night and moved the party to NOLA, feeling super confident the game would be in BR...
Oh well. Shouldn't have assumed Florida would be logical.

I feel positive that LSU will not fly into the area until the storm has passed. I don't see a scenario where LSU flies in early and "rides out the storm". LSU should be able to get to Ocala or Tampa Friday night some time...or early Saturday.
Where the outrage should occur is if the game time isn't moved to later in the day. If they have LSU fly in Friday night, then still play at noon, eastern, then THAT would be chicken shite. That is why I believe that the game will be moved to Saturday night or early Sunday so that LSU can safely fly in after the storm, settle into their hotel, and be ready to play a game.

Priceless.
They could move the game. Moving the game is not equivalent to playing in TS. Move it to Tallahassee or somewhere west. I just don't want the game to end up being canceled. UF seems to have really dug in their heels and don't want to move it anywhere. They're putting people in harm's way.

Worst case scenario is the game could move to the Bucs stadium if the storm shifts

Don't forget we use United Airlines 737-900 to take us to and from the games. United could throw a huge wrench into our travel plans if they feel it isn't safe to fly.
