Of course football is king. One national championship in football is worth more than ten consecutive national championships in baseball.

I wasn't talking about football, more that the women's basketball team spends more than half of what the football team does and over double the baseball.

I'd imagine that the baseball team is racking up some charges with all the hotel rooms going deep in the NCAA tournament. This is an expense that we don't have to worry about with the basketball team.

coaches committee pays for a good bit of baseball

only thing I can think of in terms of higher men's and women's basketball is recruiting?

I'm pretty sure LSU men's basketball took 2 out of country trips over the past 2 seasons, maybe that would explain a bit of that number. Australia and the Bahamas...

Tennis travels out of state 3-4 times in the fall, and about 10 times in the spring

So they are traveling as much or more than basketball, and spending 600k less

Team travel expenses
Women's sports are an absolute joke.
Gymnastics and softball put out a damn good product and are great for the LSU brand. It all goes hand in hand.

These are the sports that can really use the fact that they take charter flights as a recruiting positive. The number of schools whose gymnastics team and softball team EVER get to charter anywhere is close to zero.

I'm not saying it's a huge deal, but when you list the positives of your program for a recruit, this makes the list.
