I'm not sure if we can discount just how much this team left on the field against Bama. Since that game, the defense seems tired.

I can't wait to see what a rejuvenated LSU is going to do to it's bowl opponent.

I'll be hoping they play in the Sugar. I LOVE Nola when LSU comes bowling down here.

Hannigrif (sp?) mentioned this during post game last night. It's one of the reasons you can explain the lack of pass rush & poor tackling, especially yesterday.

LSU has played in the Super Dome 5 times in the past 10 years. I'd like to have a new/different bowl this year, i.e. Rose Bowl

This was a short week also so they did not have Friday and all day Saturday. They will be very well rested for the Bowl Game!!

It's my understanding given how things have played out over the last few weeks, that the Rose and Fiesta are off the table for LSU. I'd like the Rose, too. I DO NOT want to see LSU in the Cotton or Cap One bowl.

They have just 9 players that have started all of their games this season. Those were essential guys and they have had to cover for the others lack of experience or just trying to recover from injury. So it's not surprising the defense is gassed.

Yep. I said such during the first half of the Ole Miss game. At this point it has been a long season for those guys. Just glad to be able to come out of those last two with W's. Those were the definition of trap games.

I expect to see a different team in the bowl game.

Texas A&M will play their 12th straight game today. They lost their bye week due to having to reschedule their game with La. Tech. They don't look sloppy or tired. We just play down to our competition. It's been a problem ever since Miles has been at LSU. We barely beat a bad Arkansas team that had been getting blown out by our SEC West brothers. Luckily, we have a month to rest and regroup before our bowl game.

Seems we say this every year. Yet, look around and other teams don't appear gassed. Just don't know but something is up especially the D line.

Our defense is based on speed. Speed ain't there at the end of the year, especially against spread offenses like Ark, OM and A&M.

I agree, seems it's like this every year since Pelini was here.

Poor excuse, particularly when we espouse about our depth. All teams are slowed, beat up at the end of the year.

They looked tired and sloppy against LSU.

you know, if that was indeed the case, the coaches did their job right. Fantastic effort against Bama (while some people bitch about playcalls and such, there is no denying that physically we dominated that game).
Followed by 3 games that we had just enough left in the tank to win.

Ever watch an auto race, where the leader decides not to take a pit stop, and you watch that last lap wondering if he finishes? LSU finished.

And yet, we finish 5-1 against the SEC West. You don't get extra W's for a blowout.

Been a long season. Bama was a brutal game, for both teams. Our team looked to be the better team physically in that game, so conditioning wasn't an issue. We came out and went 3-0 afterwards; Bama thus far is 1-1 (and yes, I seriously think playing us had a lot to do with Bama losing the next week). South Carolina too, we beat the crap out of them and they still aren't the same team they were before.

We get a hard-earned rest before the bowl. Look for LSU to jack-slap it's opponent then.

Lets see how gassed Bama look against Auburn today. If your end of season theory is correct then the game should be closer than predicted. I hope so. War Damn Eagle!

I agree I do not think it as much physical as mental

They left everything out on the field against Bama and came up short.

They took care of Ms State. But after that just nothing left.

They play for National Championships so once that chance was gone it is probably extremely hard to get up for the remaining games.

Fact is they still won.

Truth. Although 2011 the defense still looked great every other year the team limped at the end. After a rest we usually look great in the bowl.
