Please, for the love of God, do not lobby for Mainieri to bunt more than he already does. I hate you guys so, so much.

Even if its Rhymes at the plate with Katz on first? One out seems better than two...

Um why are they on notice? Just because we won doesnt means the GIDP Machine shouldn't bunt.

Hitting into double plays are much more desirable than a bunt.

And half of my post was still focused on the 5 or 6 first pitch outs that our lineup was making against Stanek on Thursday by either showing poor patience at the plate, or Coach Mainieri putting on his patented unsuccessful hit and run on the first pitch.

Also, I'm not a big bunt em over in the first couple of innings guy, but I have no problems with a bunt late in a game when as a team you have already hit into 3 double plays for the game.

I totally agree, I hate bunting.

But there is a place for it in late inning one run games.
Especially when you've had so many leadoff runners on that failed to score, and the hitter has already hit into two DP's in the same game.

We should use it in the right situations, but damnit, if we become like Texas, or those West Coast teams that bunt the leadoff runner over no matter the inning, no matter the hitter, a small part of me will die inside.

Bunting can be effective when executed properly at the right time

How did we get so bad at stealing bases? And how does Laird only have 6 stolen bases? That stat is mind boggling.

What he said...he had already hit into 2 damn DPs in a row and has been a DP hitting machine all season...nothing wrong with changing it up...

oh and bunting works...ask Arkansas how that worked out for them...have a nice day...

So, you're saying that with the leadoff man on representing the tying run in the 9th that you don't bunt? Just curious.
