tailgating in Houston?

Anyone know where Tiger fans might be tailgating before the BYU game? NRG won't allow any tailgating on their grounds until 5:30pm gameday. Hopefully I'll be shite-faced x3 by that time.

They said the same thing for the Wisconsin game and then ended up succumbing to the demands of LSU fans and opened up in plenty of time to have fun out there

There were a few bars in downtown that housed a lot of our fans in 2014 for the wisky game. Most people will try to be close to the stadium though.

Does this apply to motorhome lots?

I thought the same thing for the Wisconsin game but gates opened that morning.

Try and go tailgate in the morning, if you can't then just find a bar close enough to walk to the stadium and go crazy

Never been to NRG have you? Lol. No bars in walking distance of the stadium.

Everyone will be tailgating at bars in Midtown again.

Usually can go to the trailer parking lot across the street from NRG. Plenty of tailgating there.
For LSU vs Wisconsin thats where we spent most of the time until heading to watch the game.

We got out there at about 11am for Wisconsin game. Found a grass median area and setup shop. There is nothing around the stadium.

I don't remember much from the pre-game tailgating for Wisconsin in 2014 or Texas Tech in 2015, but I might suggest finding a bar along the Fannin St. train line and just taking that to and from the stadium - especially if you're staying between I69 and I45, or around the Montrose area. Lines will probably be long after the game to catch the train back downtown, but it beats having to park/get out.
