I have been in the Army since graduating from LSU in 2001, and have not been able to tailgate since then. That said, what is the proper etiquette for acquiring a tailgating spot? I would not want to displace a long time tailgater.

Any help is appreciated.

My family and i would always come the night before and set up our tent to secure a spot.

Flying a "Bama Rules" flag from your tent usually helps

Your in the army and don't know how to secure an objective. Look in your little green book. Where are you stationed?

If you want to be nice just go setup on Saturday morning.

If you really don't care about being nice go pick an awesome spot Friday afternoon.

first come first serve, things have changed quite a bit if you haven't tailgated since 2001. You will be shocked. Places we used to set at back in 2001 at 1pm are filled up at 7am these days. thanks for your service man

if people feel they "deserve" a spot - they are crazy. If they want it that bad get there earlier.

If an uncomfortable situation arises just say all of your stuff is set up already - and next game you will not take it. Tell them you were away in the service. hats off to you vets.

Which spots fill up the fastest, i.e. night before?

Nicholson on the side of the road?

If you set up a tent/canopy the night before, does they ever move or vanish before the morning?

Hmmm, interesting that you would make this thread, brett408, as I was just about to make a similar one...

Does anyone here have any advice as to which part of campus is best to set up in for tailgating--I'm specifically thinking here of either tailgating near the Dalrymple area, or else near Tureaud Hall ... what's the consensus opinion on what is best for a new tailgater this season?
