What would be awesome would be a subpoena of Chavis' and Sumlin's phone logs for that day. I don't know that it would have any legal bearing on the case, but it would be awesome if that came out.
Trust me if this does got to trial in either state you can better believe those phone records will be subpoenaed for the simple fact that if the rumors are true that Chavis was glued to his phone the entire week prior to the bowl game including to and from practices. And the individual Chavis was talking to was Sumlin it will give LSU the opportunity to point the finger and loss of the bowl game to ND squarely on Chavis's shoulders and that will fuel the already starting to get heated up rivalry.
Personally I would love for those records to surface because there is no way in hell Chavis wasn't talking with Sumlin on the phone that entire week. Which leads credence to the fact that the team was not properly prepared on his side of the ball. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that look at the score and yards given up by our defense and understand that a move of this magnitude doesn't happen over night. And until Chavis got on that plane to fly to College Station you better believe Sumlin would be nervous that Chavis might get cold feet and change his mind. You couple the fact that Chavis did a piss poor job coaching that bowl game and the fact that he owes LSU money and will not pay it, makes one want the phone records to justify our feelings towards him going forward and maybe fuel some extra fire in LSU when they play A&M going forward.
