This won't end well for you.

I hate the polls, but they shouldn't be a week-to-week thing, it's a season-long, body-of-work thing, and a lot depends on what other teams around us do. So changes can occur from week-to-week that seem odd.

And again, I hate silly media or coaches' polls. At least the committee analyzes games, results, and schedules more seriously, so I can live with their results.

I'd rather auburn than just about anyone that had a shot at it the past 2 weeks other than us.

I get why we don't have as many wins, but the fact still remains, they beat us and have more wins. LSU has no real claim to bitch about when it comes to the Sugar Bowl. Auburn, frankly, deserves it over LSU. Just trying to be objective.

This is absolutely correct.

As for the specific question asked by the OP: Because LSU is a Tier 2 program. This is how Tier 2 programs are treated.

Remember Michigan losing AT Iowa two weeks ago? Yes, the same location where just two months ago North Dakota State went and won. Michigan didn't drop a single place after losing in a venue an FCS team won.

Why?

Because Michigan is a Tier 1 program.

those polls don't matter...the playoff committee poll is only poll that matters...if they feel Auburn is more deserving of Sugar Bowl, they will rank them higher than us.

I know it may sound cynical....but I wonder if they got a little input from Sugar Bowl execs as to whether they would prefer this team or that before rankings.

Or maybe a wink wink nudge nudge from Sugar Bowl execs.

Looks like auburn will get it, deservedly so relative to LSU, but I will say this... I honestly believe LSU is a better team than Auburn right now.

Someone posted that LSU would be a 6pt favorite on a neutral field vs auburn

Without Miles, we would have beaten AU the first time, and it would not have been close.

After Guice busted that long run (spread them out), we didn't see that again. We went back to the usual six play Miles offense. We go in with an Ensminger game plan that day, we win by two TDs.

But we didn't....

It is certainly possible that the Sugar Bowl could lobby the CFB playoff committee to rank its preferred choice the highest. I don't know if that would really happen or carry any wait, but it seems reasonable that if you had a bunch of fairly equal choices, none of which are really deserving (Florida, Auburn, LSU, A&M, Tenn), the "tie-breaker" could be the team that the Sugar Bowl wants.
