So... long ago it was said all of the LSU vs UO ticket allotment was sold out. How could that be? Isn't the ticket deadline today? So they are basically saying without looking at my priority ranking, I'm not eligible for tickets... but I can request them anyway and pay 1$ processing fee? How can our allotment be gone when the deadline isn't over? I could have 1 million priority points. Shouldn't I be allowed to get a couple tics???

I've never requested away seats so I've never paid attention to this scam. What am I missing?

You know that you do NOT have to wait until a deadline to do something...right?

You can file your taxes in January....the DEADLINE is in April.

true, but they shouldn't process all the requests til after today since they don't know who will request tics and when. Maybe someone with higher priority doesn't request right away. If they don't wait, then they are not really going by priority... they are going by first come first serve... no?

They are simply saying they have received more requests than the alotment of tickets.

Depending on your TAF ranking will depend on whether you get tickets.

No....let's say there are 50,000 people that are "eligible" for 30,00 tickets.

If 25,000 people respond on the first day and request 30,000+ tickets...they KNOW that the allotment is "sold". Now, there may be someone with higher "clout" that comes along later and gets some of the tickets. But, they KNOW that they are going to be bought. Just not by WHOM yet.

See?

Yup

This is good cause I think they said sold out before I even got my form in the mail

Maybe Jerry will open up from the ~82,000 seats planned up to 102,000. I know, I know

This, didn't think it was unclear. If you were ranked #1 and didn't request until today, you'd still get tickets.

Maybe them saying they have sold out the allotment means they've received more requests than tickets available. Therefore they've technically sold all available tickets. But this doesn't tell you anything about who will end up getting them. I doubt it's first come first serve. After the deadline, today, tickets should be allocated based on who has most priority points, etc. I could be wrong, but this makes sense to me.

Beaumont Bengal, you are exactly correct.

They have technically sold all of their allotment, which was originally 24,000 but is now 37,000 (Joe Alleva got an additional 13,000 for LSU).

It will definitely not be on a first come, first serve basis. It will be based soley on one's priority point ranking. However, the LSU ticket office has already stated that limitations will have to be placed on many requests. So, what that exactly means is anyone's guess.

If your ranking is from 1 to 100, you might get 8 tickets, or maybe 6. IF your ranking is between 101 and 750, you might get 6 or only 4. If your ranking is between 751 and 1000, you might get 4 or only 2. If higher that 1000, the most you will probably get is 2 tickets. Anyone over a certain ranking (3000, 4000, 5000) might get nothing. Obviously, the LSU ticket office and the athletic heirarchy has total power and control over the distribution of these tickets.

My priority ranking last December was 7485 out of 13,700. I ordered two tickets to the Cotton Bowl and I received two tickets.

A side note, last year LSU came out with a second type of point ranking, they call it Philanthropic point ranking. This ranking is used for those that wish to get regular season tickets or additional season tickets. This ranking is based soley on outright donations one makes to LSU.

Season tickets holders will be notified via email by July 1st whether or not they get tickets to the Oregon game and how many they will get.

Are they using the Philanthropic ranking or the 'regular' ranking to determine who gets the tickets?

if more than 50,000 ticket holders have requested tickets i think its safe to say about 50,000 will acquire tickets one way or another and according to the email I got 12,000 tickets are being allotted to students so roughly 60,0000 or 3/4ths of the stadium will be LSU fans

Damn, that's a lot. I didn't actually read the whole email when we got it but don't they only have like 15K student tickets in TS?

Jerry has to see the potential and sneek in another 10k seats. He likes $$$ doesn't he?

But I understand opening up the stadium to 100,000+ poses some problems. I never read what, but apparently it's some sort of pain in the arse.

Would have been nice to max it out and get as many as the superbowl. That would only be... what... another 25k seats then they are planning. We could do it I bet.

They will be using regular (what they call, priority ranking) to determine who gets the tickets.

Philanthropic ranking is strictly for new season tickets and additional season tickets if you want more than what you already have.
