USA Today article about a University of Oregon study
"Nearly a quarter of respondents reported leaving before a game is 75% complete. Potential incentives for them to stay for the entire game included free T-shirts, a sponsored post-game party, loyalty points and concession discounts, in that order. Loyalty points and meet and greets with players yielded the strongest results."

So how do we make them "loyalty points?"

Pass out tokens at the end of the game that they can give to a teacher of their choice for extra credit.

the way to get students (and everyone else) to stay until the end is to shorten the damn game. 4 hours is more than the arse can stand...

If you leave game before start of fourth quarter, you have to get your student id scanned and going to game doesn't count. If its a shitty game they can leave then for all I care.

This was my thinking when I started searching for something.

I thought maybe using RFID or phones could speed up the process. The data could be used to sort ticket priority, as well as assign students to reserved seating sections (which would decrease pregame wait times at the gate.)
