Brandon will be fine. The bigger question is will the O line be cohesive enough early on to keep him upright. I think we'll be fine in run blocking, but pass blocking is the key to the season, not Brandon Harris.

My other big question is whether the defense will be able to be dominant right off the blocks, or will we need time to absorb the new 3-4 scheme.

I think the Brandon Harris deal may be the most overblown "storyline" of this offseason. Every so-called expert basically says the same thing: "Yes, LSU is great at every position, but will Brandon Harris be good enough in the big games to win." Better question: will the O line be good enough in the big games to win?

The reason it's such a big storyline is because it's the difference between winning a national championship and losing 3 SEC games again.

I agree that Brandon will be fine this year.

But this is a legitimate question. When QB play has been as mediocre as it has been the last 2 years, I think it's acceptable to question the position. The truth is, if BH doesn't step up a notch or two and we are as one dimensional as last year, we will lose a game or two.

5 star line and 3 star skill beats 3 star line and 5 star skill.

Les Miles had lied to us in a past year before saying the line was closer to 5 star when in reality the line was closer to 3 star. So there is no certainty until the ball is on the line.

Harris will play like crap if the offensive line doesn't play together. Either way fans will blame Harris and Miles anyway

Malone has never started a game. Old Money Weatherbys has 1 or 2 starts so far. And Boutte has about the same. 3 total careee starts between the 3 new starting lineman

Yep, that's my point. That's the key to the season. I think it can be a very good line, but it has to prove it.

I'll tell you one thing. We need JD Moore to stay healthy ALL season. Not only is he a beast, but Leonard is most comfortable running when he's leading the way.

I might ask the same about you. I don't mean listening to sports radio because they all say the same thing. I guess the better question for you is if you have a mind of your own or not.

The exact same thing must be said about Brandon if you are going to say it about members of the O-line. The difference is the line will have several with a few game starts and Brandon has a season + some under his belt. The line must play well but Brandon has to play better than he has shown.

I've read similar things since '08. Since Matt Flynn, almost every year, I'm told that the QB position will be 'much better' in the upcoming year.

Ignore history! Things are going to change! The rule is that things don't change; Zach Mettenberger's 2013 season is the only exception

LSU will win with a strong running game and defense. I'll be skeptical of the QB improvement until I see reason to think it'll be otherwise.

I agree, Brennan will be just fine. Now that Tony Jennings has moved on to a better situation, Brennan knows he is the only option at QB.

I think the OP's point is that our Offensive line got brutalized in all those games.

Yea, because he showed so much improvement from the beginning of last year to the end that Tiger fans shouldnt worry about him.

That is patently false.

To be fair, the schedule got much harder, he got hurt, and he was a true sophomore.

I'm not saying he'll be Deshaun Watson, but he'll be much improved.
