I've said this numerous times on this board but there is no other program in the entire country besides South Carolina that had had a better past 7 seasons than LSU has. Criticism/debate for certain moves is perfectly reasonable but if you put emotion aside for a second, you'll realize we have one of the best coaches in the country.

Not reading the 8 or so pages, but I would think most agree with this statement. You aren't going to stop the irrational ones that disagree with this from bitching anyway

It wasn't 7 hits and 3 runs. It wasn't close. You're making up completely irrelevant hypotheticals to ignore the FACT of the matter.

Didn't you ask what would his numbers have been 2 innings later? So I guess that isn't making up hypotheticals to try and prove your point?

It isn't irrelevant at all. You are the one who asked how would the numbers have looked in two innings. The answer is it doesn't matter because he came out, so you didn't get to see the numbers 2 innings later.

You aren't the sharpest tool in the shed are you? Obviously that comment was related to the hypothetical about Bouman giving up runs if he came back out. I made the statement because you seem to be one of those awesome fans that bitches no matter what happens.

fwiw, a lot of their fans have been jumping off a ledge wanting to fire their new HC already too for not making it to Omaha the past 2 seasons. I guess winning brings out the unrealistic stupidity in a lot of people. They were raving about him prior to Tanner leaving and scared to death he'd go somewhere else. Now he's missed the CWS twice and he's garbage apparently. Nevermind all the veteran leadership they lost from those CWS teams.

I also wonder what people would be saying if we finished the season how we'd been playing up to the last 2 weeks instead of getting hot, got sent to Lafayette, and knocked out in convincing fashion. Would the melt have been worse?

We squandered that top 8 seed with a four run lead and six outs to go and you want people to just let it go after a week? Let's just not discuss anything after 4 days. New TD commandment.

So you enjoy being miserable? The pitching moves have been debated into the ground. Nothing is going to change from arguing in circles about it. It's honestly pretty pathetic to still be crying about pulling a pitcher.

Can't we just be grateful that we are the 2014 SEC Baseball Champions and stop all this? Gosh.

And be happy for the two SEC baseball teams that actually made it to the NCAA Super Regional's.

Wait, somethings not right.

I'm partial to being realistic. Why do you get offended when people say a bad decision is a bad decision?

I agree with everything you've said.

To be fair to those are still moaning about it, there really isn't much of anything else to discuss at the moment as far as LSU sports are concerned. Other than the impending meltdown sometime that will occur sometime between now and July 18.

I don't get offended at saying you disagree with a decision. It's the people calling for him to be fired that works on my patience. There has been a lot of that going around this season.

I also give our coach the benefit of the doubt in most cases as I think he's earned it. He doesn't make moves based on a whim. Everything is thoroughly thought out and calculated, with collaboration from Dunn and Javi. If a move doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. It's not for lack of good reason for the initial move though.

Due to a heavy work week and just needing time to recover from the end of the season, This is actually the first time I've discussed the losses.

You're the one who made the statement Mainieri can take the criticism. He would only see the criticism on the Rant if he reads the Rant.

If you meant something else, my mistake.

No, you are declaring that's the kind of fan I am to justify your position. You make a blanket statement about me with absolutely nothing to back it up.

So now mainieris own failures are being used as evidence to prop him up. I've seen it all now.

And this is new? Smaller athletic programs have always done well in college baseball. This talk of parity is ridiculous. In 1990 Georgia Southern and the Citadel were in Omaha. 91 Creighton Wichita State Fresno State and Long Beach State. 92 Wichita State and Pepperdine.

So you don't think there is more parity in college baseball now than in the 90s?

Only 3 national seeds advanced past the regionals, tied for the fewest ever. If Virginia and ULL lose tonight, only 1 national seed (TCU) would make it to Omaha.

That's parity that we haven't seen in a very long time, if ever. The new bats have helped put smaller programs on a little more equal footing than they were before.
