He could not have landed with a worse organization.

Not that Ridley fits the mold, but haven't the Jets had a few RBs past their prime flourish for a season or two up there recently?

edit: was just LT that was past his prime, but Thomas Jones before him and Shonn Greene after him both put up multiple 1k+ years for the Jets.

Ryan isn't there anymore so the philosophy may change, but RBs have had success up there recently.

are moving in the right direction. Raiders and Jags will be competitive soon and Browns already are.

Jets are spinning their wheels.

I believe this will be extremely good or extremely bad. Don't see any middle ground in this one. Would have loved to see him join LSU-West with the AZ Cardinals. Or perhaps a team that has a downhill running game like Green Bay, Chicago, or Pittsburgh.

Don't want to shift focus of this thread, but I can't fathom this:

Those organizations are train wrecks.

It is still NY so the media circus will always be there, but at least the Rex Ryan circus is done. New guy was the DC for the Cards, so hopefully he'll favor a strong running game for ball control.

I guess my point was that it will hinge on whether or not the rest of the Jets offense is good enough to keep defenses from stacking the box. I love Ridley, but he's not a "make you miss" type back. He needs a hole he can hit and then use a little shiftiness and power to continue runs. He won't be the one to slither through some tiny gap and explode out the backside for a big run. If the Jets can't find a decent passing offense, he'll be stuffed against 8 man fronts. On the other hand, if they can find even a little bit of a passing game they have a good enough line to help him get the holes he needs.

There's a lot of backs in NY, not sure it's the best fit but hopefully he shows out a little and gets a better chance next year

Jet's are making moves and have added 15 new players this offseason. Who knows how things will turn out for them.

With the NFL these days I'm just glad to see him on a team. It's tough for a running back coming off a serious knee injury. I wish him the best.
