Steele two years away from Alabama state pension eligibility

I heard this mentioned on Culotta and the Prince as the main reason Steele is taking the AU DC job. If he works two more years in the state of Alabama he qualifies for their public pension. Not sure if that's been brought up here. Would make a lot of sense if that is a big reason behind his move.

Yeah that is pretty interesting. Not that a guy making $1M+ a year needs a $50k pension though.

He is a moron if is making this decision for the pension.

It would be more than that I'm sure. If it's like louisiana and calculates by % of last 3 years. I'm sure his state pay is in the 300k range

Most of these guys don't make $1M forever - a few years at most. A $50k pension is a nice cushion. Plus if AU will keep him just a couple years he is in.

I have no idea, but as a tax payer, i would pray that they State caps pensions somewhere south of $100k
