Statistics: Why LSU will beat Wisconsin: A response to Wisc Trolls

I have looked at a few aspects of the game and I feel pretty confident about an LSU Victory. Here's why:

1. OPENING GAMES
Yes, LSU and Wisconsin are both 5-0 in the last five openers. There are two differences between the teams though. A. LSU treats opening games like a season opening 'bowl game' (So, LSU will absolutely be prepared). B. Who we have played:
WISC --> UMASS, N. IOWA, UNLV, UNLV & N. ILL
LSU --> TCU, N. Texas, Oregon, UNC, Washington

Simply put, Wisconsin will not be ready.

2. SIMILAR OPPONENTS FOR COMPARISON:
At a quick glance over the last 7 years, I noted four teams that we have both played:
OREGON, SOUTH CAROLINA, TCU, OHIO STATE
RECORD? LSU 4-0 (with a NC over Ohio State)
WISC 0-4 (I acknowledge that I only looked briefly at schedule for this. Because I'm sure wisconsin beat Ohio State once or twice in that time. Maybe.

3. RECORD VERSUS RANKED TEAMS:
How far back should we geaux? I looked at the last 7 seasons for a comparison of win/loss ratio for end-of-season ranked opponents. Here are the facts:
Losses to ranked opponents:
WISCONSIN 17
LSU 15

Pretty close comparison in my opinion......
Until you look at wins versus ranked opponents!

Wins over ranked opponents:
WISONSIN 9
LSU 29

So, over the last 7 years against ranked opponents Wisconsin is 9-17 and LSU is 29-15!!!

Also consider that Wisconsin is 1-6 in their last 7 bowl games. LSU is 4-3 (with SEC championships and a National Championship, and a Loss in NC game).

4. LOSSES TO UNRANKED TEAMS:
Over the last 7 years, the losses are double to Wisconsin:
WISCONSIN: 10
LSU: 5 (3 of these are to Ole Piss!!)

Is it more fair to be more recent? Say just the last 4 years??
WISCONSIN: 6
LSU: 1


ALL SAID: In the last 7 years, Wisconsin simply has not faced as many ranked teams as LSU. Further, they win about 33% of those games. LSU wins 66%.
And LSU thrives in opening games against ranked opponents. Wisconsin? Not an intimidating list.

HOWEVER: I am impressed with one major factor about Wisconsin. RUSHING YARDS. They averaged 283 yards per game last season. So, I respect their ground game. Big line. Experienced. Great running backs.
On the other hand, they lost all of their front 7 on defense......going up against our O-line and great running backs will be a serious challenge!
Wisconsin might even take the lead in the first half. LSU, however, has size, speed and skill that Wisconsin rarely sees. The late third quarter and fourth quarter will belong to LSU.

No prediction on a score.
But I do predict victory!!!
