Simple question, did Miles leave the program in better shape than he inherited it?
quote:Yes, it's a better job. Back to back head coaches won national championships at LSU. Coaches take note of that and realize the school has the necessary support to win championships.
Also is LSU a better job now then we he took it over?

Two things related to the "program" from the fans' experience that I think took away some of the gameday magic: 1)the collapse of tailgating and parking around campus. The reconfiguration and additional regulations really dampened the spirit.
2)the lack of good home and home games with solid programs. We sacrifice a great home game every year to go play in Houston, Atlanta, or Dallas. The game in Green Bay was a fantastic idea however except for the outcome.

The parking is unbelievable. I can't believe the regulars have not started some kind of revolt.

And at the "moment" Miles took over the program was ranked #16, had 9 wins, and was out of the SECW race after the 1st week of Oct.
We have to look at the whole and not cherry pick, but each to our own.
Anyone not willing to note the difference between the strength of SEC of 2000-2004 and from 05 till now, cant make a honest assessment. imo

LSU can get almost anyone they want . If the money is right.

Green Bay is a shite hole. Would have MUCH preferred playing that one in Madison.

But in the 4+ years after that, we've gone 15-11 against the SEC West, all with top 5 recruiting classes.
I don't know where you found rankings that show LSU with top 5 classes each and every year. What I looked up for the past 5 years shows LSU in the top 5 twice, between 6-10 twice and his lowest class ranked #18.
Going back through all of Miles classes, his best was #2 and his worst was #22, which was his first year at LSU. That actually would have been part of Sabans last recruiting effort for LSU. Ole Nick really hit it out of the park that year, didn't he.
By the way, these rankings were the rivals sites rankings, I'm sure the others are a little different.

Had the record for most consecutive non-conference regular season wins too.

Why Madison??? You really think that would have increased our chance of winning????? Or are you just being selfish and thinking about yourself and the fun you didn't have.

The program was a disaster when saban got here. He built a top 5 program from out of the gutters.
dukke, it doesn't matter how many times you repeat yourself with this saban built LSU into a top 5 program, it isn't true. The year to year rankings prove that it isn't a fact. He left the program in better shape then when he arrived. That's all he did. End of story.

Why???? Well I guess you can't. Or you are scared that I am spot on. Either way..

es, he did a lot for the program to put it mildly. But in terms of program prestige and how coaches, the media, and the public view the head coach job here, 2016 LSU > 2005 LSU.
LSU was a program on the rise when Saban left. The program is in a state of decline at present.

Ok. But has miles left the program in as good a shape as when he got here. No.

Why????
