Start Gilbert Friday; Resting Walker is a good thing

As much as I enjoyed Hoover and winning the SECT, it would have been a "good" thing if Walker had an extra week of rest before the real post season.
With the matchup coming up and him not being available to Saturday anyway, start Gilbert friday. Then go Lange Poche and Walker if needed. If Walker doesn't throw, fine. He's thrown way more this year than any other time in his life. Rest will NOT be a bad thing.

If we're not starting Poche Friday, then start Bain or Peterson. I want Gilbert in the pen for Saturday and Sunday.

A 3rd starter who's a sophomore/junior is different than a freshman who's thrown 85 innings in 3 months.

We're going to throw Poche Lange and then Walker.You may not like it but that's what's going to happen if we play on Friday Saturday and Sunday (weather considerations; things would obviously change if we don't play friday).

I just think youre playing with fire if you get to omaha and you need to rely on a guy who hasn't thrown for 3 weeks and never in the postseason. That would make me very nervous

You think that SECT championship game wasn't enough pressure? You think he won't be throwing at all?

Throwing a game is different than a bullpen. You know this. I just see no need in resting him. We developed a 3rd starter solely for this time of year. Dont over think it now
