I know this isn't Miles' way but wouldn't it be awesome if Brandon Harris came out chucking the ball on short routes on every down in the first series to soften up the MSU D and get them on their heels?

Then go back to Fournette on the 2nd series and pound the rock.

oh and send fournette on a streak out of the backfield like we did exactly one time last year and it resulted in about a 40 yard gain.....no linebacker can cover him

I was thinking earlier that this would be awesome. I'd just love to see us throw a pass on our first play. I don't recall Miles ever calling or allowing a pass play on the first snap.

Dude, you have no imagination. What about a double reverse, throwback, hook and ladder pass? No way Moo U is ready for that.

nope....quick kick. State defender inadvertently hits ball, Pocic hustling down runs it into the end zone.

The 2 min offense would do a few things:
1. Get Harris into a rythym with his receivers
2. Build his confidence
3. Have MSU unprepared as they're stacking the box waiting for Fournette
4. Keep MSU guessing the rest of the night after initial success

I'm not talking bombs or trick plays - just high percentage short throws to RBs, WRs and maybe even the TE

No. Wear the defense down with that stableford we got, then air the piss out of it in the 2nd half.

Leslie Miles would be proud

What is frustrating is we do shite that works and then don't do it anymore, same with players (Diarse comes to mind)

i'll never understand this about miles. there's been so many plays that have worked over the years only to never see them again.

As much as I would like to see us just air it out, you got to remember that the strength of our team is running the rock and the more we run it the longer we keep Dak off the field. We keep our 1st team D fresh, and keep Dak from getting in the game we leave Starkville with a W.

Great idea, sometimes you gotta break tendencies a bit. As much as Bama likes to pound the ball, they have come out in some big games throwing it around w/much success & surprising the defense. Hate to bring them up, but good coaches break tendencies.

Or he could throw a pick 6 on his first drive and it could be disastrous for his confidence.... This is why Les always has done what he does and why he is the greatest coach in LSU history

Probably.

It is a good play to get over the jitters at the start of the game. It is a play that the offense knows well, it gives the players that first hit in the game to settle them down, LSU has the personnel to do it well, it doesn't require any complicated ball handling or route running.

It is simple, easy and basic.
